I hope if Cory is going racing again and he needs a little sponsor ship money like last year he will give us a little more time to do it right. It could turn into something like Hogs sponsor ship of Gene Church in the 80's |

http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/buckeye-superb ike-weekend-and-ama-vintage-motorcycle-days-swap-w eekends-at-mid-ohio/ Stuff like this is the problem. DMG is so short sighted, this should have been avoided but even now the fix is still half baked, because for the teams its still unclear whether Superbike will run in support of the WSBK races at Laguna Seca. The AMA 2014 season is slowly swirling the drain, Some one please create a WERA or CMRA thread... (Message edited by Classax on December 17, 2013) |

Backing up what Classax posted, the best news for today according to the good folks at American Sport Bike is, quote:AMA Superbike at Mid-Ohio has been moved to July 18-20 so that the AMA classes could run at Laguna Seca on July 11-13. The AMA contract for the WSBK weekend isn't in place yet, but the major hurdle preventing it has been cleared. I think you can assume that AMA will also be running with WSBK at Laguna Seca.
Yay! Look for the LuvShak at the best Corkscrew View site spots at Laguna! Fingers crossed to be able to see a double shot of EBR that wknd. Go EBR, Goeff, Aaron, Erik & the Elves! |

http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/no-ama-pro-roa d-racing-at-miller-motorsports-park-in-2014/ It just keeps getting worse, unless they are planning to do two at Laguna the series will only have 5 rounds. Daytona Barber Road America New Jersey Mid Ohio The AMA Pro Sereis is now basically an east coast club racing. CMRA or WERA its time to step in and compete for that TV coverage. Truly pathetic. Even if they are able to run two races at Laguna I don't see teams sticking around in the series when they can either go abroad for nearly the same money or run the other Regional Club races for much much less. EBR picked a great time to go to WSBK. GO EBR! |

make up yer own mind: 2014 AMA Pro Racing TV Package Update with Chet Burks Productions ".....there’s a lot of work going on in Daytona that people are not aware of yet. The DMG folks are working on class structures and technical rules that will benefit everyone. Those announcements will come at the appropriate time and I think they are making some good decisions for the future of the sport. I know the DMG is an easy target for some but the bottom line is that there are folks down there doing very good work....." http://www.nextmotochampion.com/nmc-news/nmc-exclu sive-ama-pro-racing-tv-package-update-for-2014-wit h-chet-burks-from-chet-burks-productions |

What I got out of it was no restrictors |

Are you serious build it back up as the market demands.... If you are in fewer markets and you kill or deter your supply of product by not putting out a schedule in a timely manner so that riders, teams and sponsors can secure funding for the year, you wind up with less supply and less demand. If you really want to increase the market, negotiate to run in support of one of the few NASCAR Road Races. How about one race in each track per state(ok that one's a stretch). How about some cross promotion between Supercross. Road racers train on dirt and the riders have a great deal of mutual respect. I never doubt the passion or integrity of anyone in their work, but competence should regularly be called into question. DMG has made mistakes, everyone does, but they aren't helping themselves to win the fan base or competitors. |

I know, I wanted to bring to light good news unlike the turmoil road racing is in. Wonder if the RS 750's got their restrictors removed. Maybe Nicky"s last chance at a mile win. |

Nicky's been away from Flat Track for too long. I don't believe that he can win a Mile now. I could be wrong, but it tales the right team and bike and rider; Nicky would have to be phenomenally lucky to fall into such a situation. |

Crusty, as a 69 fanboi, I can't be objective a racer whose made it thru 5 years at Ducati & was competitive against the other Ducati racers is no slouch Hayden still has the skills, atrophied or not - while it's unlikely we'll see Nicky on a Mile during 2014, the future's unknown..... |

Nicky continues, I am sure, to practice on dirt against some really top notch dirt riders AND he can afford to pay for the absolute best equipment and tuners. If he has the time and the inclination I think he could win a mile. Not likely on the first few tries but if he ran all the miles in a year I think he could win one. Luck pays a large roll, more so on the dirt than on asphalt, so that will effect it. But having a great bike and tuner every race is an advantage. Many of the top dirt riders are on pretty tight budgets. Nobody is getting rich on flat track. |

AMA Pro's title sponsor Gieco has now pulled out for 2014. I simply don't understand how DMG could have gotten to this sorry state. Gieco originally contracted to sponsor all the way to 2015, CBSSports contacted to cover every race in 2014, and tracks prefer events to no events even if it's a private track day as long as it covers the insurance, rental and usage fees. Obviously the sponsor and CBSS thought it was a decent investment. How in the world did we wind up going backwards just as the economic picture starts to move forward? What are the major sticking points? My what a debacle! (Message edited by classax on December 26, 2013) |

It pains me to say it but, Army National Guards decision to pull out of AMA Pro is looking less and less like a sequester/economy issue and more and more like a DMG...Jumpman(unlikely) issue issue.http://www.motorcycledaily.com/2013/12/national-gu ard-increases-its-partnership-with-monster-energy- supercross-for-the-2014-season/ It could be they get more bang for the buck at the arena events, but DMG ultimately is failing at marketing the sport. True its less of an investment for the fans to do the arenas and the races sort of come to them, DMG has to leverage its relationships with board's of directors businesses and the AMA to cross pollinate the fan bases. My wife and kid are casual race fans because me. I say casual because they won't camp out at the track for two or three days, but I never have to check to see if the DVR is set and they will go to a watch party with me. DMG needs to hire a marketing firm to explore how to raise the awareness and perception of the crack engineers and amazing athletes of the sport. Compare your average NASCAR driver or MX or SX riders to an AMA PRO racer and the athleticism required is night and day. Yet people KNOW NASCAR guys, and MX/SX guys are rockstars but AMA PRo Racers are well... (Message edited by Classax on January 03, 2014) |

I swear EBR has Elves listening to this board. There are chances to win an 1190rx at every MX, SX, and flat track event 63 in all but not one mention of an AMA Pro Road racing event. EBR is leveraging AMSOIL's core market to cross pollinate additional fans outside the Road racing community. Even though the marketing and legal likely took weeks to set up, I will continue to convince myself that they got the idea from me.Lol! Pay attention and take a lesson DMG! |

Larry hasn't been good for years. He had a great bike last year being a graves bike and still gave results like he was on the BMW. Larry used to be great but age is getting him. It would be great if a younger rider was in his camp like he suggested a year ago as a second rider. |

Dana, if you think that Larry had the same bike that Hayes and Herrin had I have a bridge to sell you, but I do agree that Larry is not the rider that he once was and now would be a time to bring on a younger rider to his team if he wants to continue being in AMA racing. |

Hank I didn't say it was Hayes bike I said a graves bike and a hefty lease at that he couldn't afford a back up bike of the same. None the less it was a better sorted bike then hes had in years |

Larry simply isn't on the pace of the leading riders anymore. That said he is still blazing fast and I'd gladly take lessons on how to ride from him. The other issue is its one thing to have the equipment but a whole other to have it with the support expertise to dial it in week to week. |

He had graves support to some extent. He has said that in interviews also testing with graves team. Larry is a great guy I've talked to him several times hes very approachable. Hes just has the clock against him now it seems. |

I guess its offical now only 5 rounds and no Laguna Seca WSBK support races. Mazda Race Way just posted the entire 2014 schedule and AMA Pro is no where on it. Not many races for CBSS to cover at all. 20 total between Superbike and Daytona Sport. |

Well looks like Danny Eslick will be running in Daytona Sport bike for 2014 per his interview with Pit Pass Radio last night. http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/PitpassradiocomRadi oProgramArchive/~3/TZtxNyXpA5g/index.php Looks like the racers who are in the series are trying to make the best of it, but with so much time between rounds its going to be hard to sustain crews. Its sad that both WERA and CMRA will run more rounds and tracks than the national series. Even sadder is we will likely see AMA guys/gals showing up at WERA and CMRA events just to have a place to race. |
