I was about to make a bracket to attach a steering damper to the 1-1/8" frame member on my M2 when I got an idea. I found a 1-1/8" bore black oxide coated mild steel clamp collar at Home Depot for $9.37. Store SKU# 307213 It fits perfectly and will make a very strong mounting point. Looks nice too. It could also be used for lots of other mounting applications on out tube frame Buells so I thought I would pass it along. |

I'm interested too. How do you attach anything to it? Weld something on? Tap some threads into the top of the clamp? |

Havn't decided yet. Possibilities include welding a tab on to it, drill and tapping it for a mounting bolt, and using a longer fastener to mount stuff to it. It looks a lot like the part that Buell uses to attach the lower fairings on a S3T. |

I can imagine a nice helmet locking point using a couple of these |
