That's in really good shape. I would install a proper muffler on it and ride! Great find. And to a good home! |

After looking at that I wish my S3 had that fairing. Ends up being a great looking bike. |

Ok, so - what is it, exactly? I see frame from a RS, fairing from a RS, and tank/body from what looks like a S3. Hmmmm. I really like the front rotor that matches those early PM wheels. |

Ok, so - what is it, exactly? Clearly it's an RS with S3 tank and tail. Back to the 1190 RX... 1313 |

Thank you, First off… Hats off to Erik & the Elves THEN & NOW.. So the story goes like this.. I purchased my first 95 S2 used through my dealer 200 miles on the clock. That was the day I kicked my sportster over!!! It turns out, it was the same guy that owned this bike. He purchased this bike new there also, which was the first Buell this dealer sold. I was picking up a few parts on Thursday & after showing the nephew of the owner, (who I went to HIGH school with) the pic of my RSS. We got to chat tin about this bike…bla bla bla… first Buell…bla bla bla (owners name) bla bla bla…. A 1991 White RS…. blaaa…. WHAT????? BACK UP!!!! WHERE IS IT??? I always remembered a GREEN Buell on a work table there for EVER!! This was the bike. They were trying to set it up with an Aero charger, NEVER did get it running right.. Apparently, there was once a kit to install S3 body work on this bike and that is what he did, boxed up the original body work & stored it away. The original owner was about 60 at the time in late 90's. He lost interest, the bike sat until he sold it in 2011, to the owner I purchased it from. He than gave it another try with the Aero charger with no avail… so he had everything for it removed returned it back to stock (almost) rode it home and parked it in that scary garage. And there it sat cold lonely & afraid. So with MY calculations the bike was only rideable for maybe 5-6 years, in that time there were not many miles put on the bike I know this from talking at the dealer on Thursday, and from going over the bike. Bike is BONE Stock other than the obvious, original motor intact & strong. When the S3 body was put on they put white face Buell gauges in the fairing 197 miles on the clock as of yesterday morning. with a little love, a battery, fuel tank swap, I turned 200 miles by lunchtime I guess they tried using the fulie tank with the solenoids.. that didn't work out too well. I have been kicking a manta tank around the house over a year now, door knob for the house I guess. I am not sure on what I am going to do with the paint, the color is pretty neat actually dark blue, purple, green depending on light the tail is in great shape fairing some bubbles. A repaint is inevitable eventually, maybe i'll go back to the Pearl White But for now, I just wanted to check her over, do an oil & primary fluid change, warm her up, give her a quick ride & put her away properly. I have a larger issue to tackle for the next few weeks which is coming home saturday… Ride safe, Chris screwed w pix 2x (Message edited by k12pilot on October 16, 2013) |

Not a chance... That would be too easy They were "removed" from the dealer by an x employee years ago.. Just add them to my list of things to find. |

The Airtech is a poor choice. It's expensive and very rough. |

>>>>Don't shoot the messenger. Absolutely not. It's a shame, but understandable, that the Airtech is the only commercial option. It's really time to start refocusing on this bodywork issue. There are a number of the bikes out there and, generally, parts support is good as most the parts were from HD, and other's, parts bins. The bodywork was a pain in the butt when the bikes were built . . it's a pain in the butt now. But . . . we can't allow these pieces of art to languish due to lack of body parts. I'm betting it will get sorted out . . too many passionate folks in the mix to fail. |

Lets try pix again….. New Project 1970 GTO my brother & I restored 20++ years ago. I was rebuilding my 68 Firebird & He/we were building this. I guess his penis doesn't work anymore (or his wife doesn't let him use it)….he wanted to sell this & buy a convertible sports car. I donated plenty of blood, sweat & tears into this car, I couldn't just let him sell it to some idiot on the internet.

Nice find. I'm glad it was you and not me. Having more than one bike that needs unobtainium parts would probably stress me beyond belief right now. Have you thought about what you're going to do for flippy-seat hardware? Looks like you need another Supertrapp Elite. |

I am not really stressing it… If & when body parts come by me… great!! I am fine with it either way, I enjoy the hunt. The biggest issue I have now is a fuel tank for the PMX, and I think I might have that worked out. Just waiting for snowmobile season to set in to get up towards Buffalo NY & have the tank Vacuum form molded. My friends machine is too small for it. If & when I find out the pedigree of the PMX, the paint will be dictated by that. The RS/3 is going to be just that for now, I just need to paint the new tank to mach, or do a total repaint, another Qt of paint isn't a deal breaker. The RSS, I love just the way it is & I love riding it even more Shocks I have & also a supertrapp just no header for the RS/3 been there done that & worked out great. Can anyone confirm for me the header on the RS/3 is indeed a S3 header & what year, & what OEM muffler will fit it may just go that route for now. Or will a race header & muffler from an S1 would fit on there?? I will now proceed to screw up this post with picture links…. Thanks Ride Safe Chris |

Sorry it's been a while since I've posted. I have been up to my arse in reviving the GTO & looking for a 65 convertible )) The RS/3 is running very well w just a little bit o love. I'm going to re shoot the existing body work since I had to change the tank. Anyone want to donate an original body ?? Lol I also have also acquired another RS. It is truly a disease!! Assembly of the PMX will begin within weeks... Same bat channel.... |

Very nice find. I agree on the disease part. lol. I myself will more than likely acquire an S2 at some point and make it so it can carry the hard bags. |
