Thanks for posting that, Steve. Earlier this evening in Niagara Falls I had the pleasure to meet three fine fellows from Amherst's American Harley Davidson. Hope we cross paths again because I could have chatted with those guys all night. What did people do before motorcycles?

Did ya' get it? More details! I love hearing acquisition stories... I'm in Rochester so never worked with the guys at American HD - but think I heard they were a very Buell friendly & knowledgeable shop and had a guy in service who lived and breathed Buell's... |

$2500? How could you not take it home!! Did you guys notice it has dual discs? |

Dave, that's exactly what I said. And the dual discs didn't go unnoticed. I got the impression Eric Klaes, American Harley-Davidson's parts manager, is a hard core Buell aficionado. He certainly seemed knowledgeable and experienced, as did his colleague Erik Czarnecki. They were both experienced flat track racers and bike and auto drag racers, too. So we're dealing with hard core motor-heads. Erik's dad Marty is a serious gear head, too, who's been riding H-D's a long time. He still has a '48 pan and showed me photos of a recently restored '59 pan that was drop dead gorgeous. I could have shot the breeze with these guys for hours. Looking forward to meeting up with them again soon. LOVE meeting people who are passionate about motorcycling. It's like meeting family you never knew you had!

Awesome. I'm glad you picked it up. I would've been tempted were it not for the unplanned X1 I picked up in Buffalo a couple weeks ago. Going after the S1 may have pushed my long-suffering wife over the brink... I will have to make a point of stopping in American HD on my next trek out that way. Sounds like my kinda folk... |

So Swamp said he was glad you picked it up, but I didn't see anywhere in your post that actually said you bought it. Did you bring it home? If so, congratulations! Looks like a nice example. |

Yes, bought it. Canadian import, so it's in Amherst until the paperwork's sorted.

Lorne if Canada don't want you to have it I'll roll it over to my house a few miles from amherst. Nice grab. When I owned an s1 I didn't find any particular help from American. Glad their is some enthusiasm there. |

Oh man they need to update their Craigslist post. That bike is still listed and I was debating using some of my time off around Christmas to drive 3.5 hours each way to pick it up. Was gonna call him to see if it was still for sale. Aside from those dual disks I also noticed the X1 swingarm and Corbin seat. Looks like it was a well taken care of bike! You saved my bank account in the short term haha. |
