So after I layed my bike down I've been getting everything I need to put it back together. I got the forks rebuilt by the local shop. But I'm looking at the front axle and it doesn't seem right. If you can look at the pics and tell me what I'm missing or what I need to do. Let me know what you see.. Thanks |

I don't see anything wrong. Did you install the front wheel? |

No the front tire was on before I bought the bike. There isn't supposed to be anything between the fork and the rim on the opposite side of the brake? |

Did you install the front wheel in the forks yourself (was the question)? There is a spacer on the non brake side that slides into the fork (it goes from the axle nut to the wheel bearing through the fork leg). |

Oh yeah I got that spacer in place. I mounted the forks to the bike but there still not straight.. The forks themselves are straight but after installing then the steering is still off a little. Any ideas? |

How do you know the steering is off? What's the reference point or how do they look off? |

Where the front fender goes the bolt holes are offset. If your on the bike and hold the handlebars straight the tire isn't facing straight. |

Well, to see what's really going on (without actually being there) will take some minor disassembly. The front wheel needs to come off and the pinch bolts for the fork tubes need to be loosened. |
