I'm hoping some or most of you will consider doing this. I'm contacting Discovery Channel to appeal for WSBK coverage for the 2014 season, much like they have done for BSBK. This is the contact page I've found. http://corporate.discovery.com/contact/viewer-relations/ for "viewer relations". I had to select a program. Picked "Cafe Racer" for lack of anything better and included this message. "This is a program appeal. There is a great unfilled void in America for coverage of motorcycle racing. I was excited to see coverage this year's of British Superbike series on Velocity. Currently the premier class of world wide racing of factory based motorcycle, WSBK (World Superbike) has no availability in the US on an English speaking channel. Speed TV gave it up after the 2012 season. What makes it more exciting now is the addition of an American team (EBR) on American made motorcycles for the first time in the history of WSBK. Please consider carrying and providing the already available coverage in the US. It has an incredible following here but no way to see it. Thanks, Paul H. Martinez Lockport, IL" I know not everyone has Velocity, but I think it may be one of the few channels that has any relativity to showing the races next year, now that SPEED and Fox and CBS show no interest and Velocity now carries the British series, this may be a good outlet. Please consider it, feel free to copy and paste my request or write another. If anyone else has some ideas please share them. I'm guessing I'm not the only one that is really excited about watching WSBK next year. If anyone wants to move this thread to another forum or share this, it would be great. Thanks. Lastcyclone

Sounds like a good idea. I have no interest in paying a premium to watch WSBK on a European soccer (mostly) channel. I applaud Velocity for lately carrying the BSB series - good move and I hope they expand M/C racing coverage in the states for the rest of us for 2014. |
