negative, Rex. the crimped bar in the lower FMJ photo is the newer, better version. it doesn't sacrifice any meat in the process of providing a place to nestle up to the collar, and also makes it harder for a crack to propagate in the welds between the two pieces. |

Stingaroo, My computer crashed, so what, if any, pictures I had I lost. Damn computers. Anyway, I'll take a gander through my scrapbook and see what I can find. If not, I can certainly take some in a few weeks and give em to ya. Alex |

Alex, What time are planning on being at the chili feed? I'd hate to miss seeing you. I'm going to try & be there around 11. I can't stay too long though, the guy that's going to do the top end on my S3 is remodeling an old farmhouse and I am going to help him hang some doors. |

95 Buell S2 for sale at a local dealer that I work with. They have had it on the show room floor for over a year. I know that it has had 1700 bucks of motor work done on it since they took it in. They are taking a soaking on it and want it gone. 4000 bucks takes it away. Email me if you want details.

Mike, I'll probably be there about 11:30 or noon. Maybe earlier. It's been a rough week, need to sleep in a bit. I emailed you my cell number, give that a buzz if I'm not there when you're ready to split, and I can give you my ETA to see if you want to hang around for a bit. Dusty, I'd love that bike, next year at this time I'd be golden. I think the S2s are some of the best looking bikes ever, and they keep coming along at the right prices... Alex |

Hello everyone, I am seriously researching a big project for my M2 Cyclone and would welcome anyones experience and advice. I am in Texas, just north of San Antonio, and looking to ship my engine to NRHS for a 88" kit. The bike is 100% stock right now and has actually been sitting for over a year. I have talked to Justin and worked up an estimate which sounds like what I am looking for and I have two questions at this point. 1) Does anyone know any freight carriers that offer good deals for crating and shipping engines? 2) Does anyone have any shops/dealers they would reccomend in the San Antonio or Austin areas (I am thinking of Austin HD Buell) preferably with a dyno for the dropping and reassembly/final tuning? Anyway, hope to be riding again soon. Texas Hill Country rocks! Thanks! edited by Mike75 on February 28, 2004 |

Mike75, Don't know any shippers, but there are several shops around Austin that might fit the bill: Austin H-D/Buell http://www.austinharley-davidson.com/ does good work, but doesn't have a dyno (last I checked, anyway). Central Texas H-D/Buell http://www.centraltexasharley.com/ does have a dyno, but I don't know about their service staff. They are racing an XB12R this season, so they may have (hopefully) some tuning expertise. Ironhorse Motorcycles http://www.ironhorseonline.com/ has a dyno and are mainly chopper builders, so probably know shipping as well. AF1 Racing http://www.af1racing.com/ has a dyno as well. They know Aprilia best of all, but can dyno tune any brand. If you are willing to go up to Georgetown, The Alley (512-930-5475) might be a good choice. They used to (don't know if they still do) campaign an S2 dragbike (at least it had mostly S2 bodywork!). Once you're rolling again, let us know. We've got a group 'round here that rides fairly often and encompasses folks in Austin, San Antonio, San Marcos and to infinity and beyond! Also, be careful with that 88"! One of my friends had one run out from under him! HellBuelly J http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hellbuellies/ "You start the game with a full pot o' luck and an empty pot o' experience... Bueller and Jim, Thanks for the information. Bueller, I have been in the Alley and heard good things, wasn't aware of them having a drag bike. That's great cause definetly wanted someone who has experience with Buells. If you have the info Jim sure could use it. I intend on looking you guys up Bueller, was in Killeen two years back and just now returned to TX. Went to first Thrills, was it Pavlo's that used to met at? Anyway, thanks for helping me out! Great info.

"bin" i suppose is a relative term, and probably differs from rider to rider. i slammed it on the ground pretty hard, and have some ribs that were nonexistent Sunday, which were slightly vocal yesterday, which now hurt when i take a deep breath today. Sunday the 29th, BattleTrax season opener, Stockton, CA. the Thong is STILL not talking to me. edited by ferris on March 02, 2004 |

Now that is right nice of you, Jim. For sure I'm buying the beer on Saturday! Don't let Ferris in the same ROOM as my bike! Speaking of room, if the house purchase goes through, it comes with a 22'X 24' workshop with 220V and plumbing. Now if I could only afford some power-tools when the dust settles! Ouch, Ferris. Bummer! |

I am so looking forward to seeing my new wheels, specially all shinied up like that! But I'll never do this cross-border shopping thing again. I've got not one, but two sets of assholes in uniforms to kiss up to. An under-worked gang wearing the Stars and Stripes whose permission I need to get the bike OUT of the U.S of A, then a similar set with the Maple leaf whose asses I have to kiss to get the thing into this country. My visit to US Customs yesterday reminded of the days before Post Offices were privatized into kiosks at drug-stores and such. I remember waiting in line for twenty minutes at the Post Office to buy a handfull of one cent stamps so I could again send mail after the rates went up a penny. Just as I got to front of the line, it was coffee-time and I had to stand there another twenty minutes while the lone teller went for a break. The other well-pensioned staff industriously did nothing at their desks while we all stood patiently in line. US Customs is like that. I'd say, "Privatize the bastards!" except that I've seen the privatized security guards at the airports and they have the same do-fuck-all attitude. They just don't get paid more than I do like the governemt employees. Tbolteric is having a bad-attitude day. High on paint fumes. BTW, 1995 is the first year of Buell ALLOWED to be registered in Canada. Had I bought an early nineties Buell, of the RRS type, for instance, I would either be unable to bring it into the country at all, or unable to register it to ride here.
