So I am in the process of removing the clip-ons for my X1 and didn't realize it has an entire different upper triple tree. Look for one from an XB front conversion if anyone has one. Also would one from an M2 work? I know the forks are different but are the tree? |

Do you have a pic. The fork mm is the same between the two but I think the measurement between the forks differs. What is ussaully done is you press out the stem on the old trees and press it inti the new trees you will also need to mill out some of the top tree for the nut (Message edited by S1owner on November 29, 2013) |

Well I wasn't looking to do a conversion, just maybe a leftover upper that someone has. There is an M2 upper on Fleabay right now but didn't know if it was the same. My lower is stock but of course I have the inverted X1 forks and the M2 has the standard forks... |

M2 wont work, but an S1 or X1 is the same top plate, so is an S3. all three models used inverted forks of the same diameter. and all three used the cradle style handlebar set up. some of the early S1 top trees had bolt on handlebar cradles instead of cast into the top tree. I don't know when the design changed though. my 98 S1 and 99 X1 both have a cast in mold handlebar cradle. there is a 97 s1 polished tree full set up on ebay that does not have the cast in mold bar cradle, it has the bolt in style. do you have the upper tree that was sold by a machinist on ebay, it has the clip on mounts cncd into the tree and also has the cradle style for either set up? |

Yes it must be an ebay setup but the machine work appears pretty good. I could use the handlebars still but it would look like crap. Plus changing setups is costing me a bit so I figured I can offset the cost master cylinder. I believe the one I have some. So far bought handlebars and a new is off an older GSXR or ZXR and does not work worth a crap. Clutch perch works but is not pretty. Mirror mount broken off. S1 I will get a pic of it in the morning. |

Jolly is correct with the fitment and I think the 96 is the only year they were seperate pieces. Cost me 70 bucks to get the last set if the lower clamps that bolt on from vintage. Jesse definitely get some pics if you do not know how to post send them to me I will post. I may be able to help you out as I am in the middle of my custom build and have a lot of parts I may be getting rid of. Alot if guys use motocross bars and they are every where. Send me a list of parts you are looking for I will see what I have maybe trade some parts. K. Paige@charter.net |

There it is. The only piece I need is the upper. I have the handlebar mount as it was retained for the gauge mount. I bought a set of bars from a fellow member so I have that covered. |
