I just ordered the Both Rocker Gasket Main Manifold Gasket etc from H.D. how much should I expect to pay an individual to replace these. I was planning on doing it myself, but words like drop and rotate the engine sent me running with tail tucked between legs... So how much money should I offer the guy up the street to do this for me? | ||

'09 1125R, 23+k miles. This oil leak started happening as a slight weep during one of the SCAB rides earlier this year where I found the screw holding a P-clamp for some tubes and such loose. After tightening it, the weep's been getting leakier (is that such a word?) as time goes on. Granted I had removed the P-clamp. which goes on the lower of the 2 screws pictured, and reinstalled its screw days earlier to help pin down the leak source. Today I put the bike on a rear stand and couldn't believe my eyes: It's weird. While the engine is running there is no leak but when turned off and on the stand, it gushes like that. If turned off and on the sidestand, there's little or no leak. Why is that? I have to think that the clutch side cover gasket needs to be replaced. Crap. Remove muffler, clutch, drain water pump, etc. $$$ |
