A friend is suffering from the battery going from full charge to out of charge in a 60-70 mile ride the 77 connector looks a little bit melted just very little, could this be the problem? Thanks. |

Yes. The 77 connector is what connects the VR to the battery. If the connector has melted, that means the pins are not making contact, and you no longer have a connection. No connection means the VR can't keep the battery supplied, then eventually the battery depletes itself. Replace the connector |

You can buy a repair kit from the dealer or just connect the wires directly with suitable crimp-style electrical connections. There are many old threads (especially in Big, Bad & Dirty) about how to repair. |
