I layed my blast down last Saturday. I'm okay but my front end is pretty smashed up. Basically the whole front end has to be fixed. Headlight, mirrors, turn signals, brake lever, windscreen and the big one my forks got bent.

So I've been looking around locally for some replacements.

My question is since blast forks are 37mm shouldn't I be able to use any 37 mm forks as replacments?

If you replace the forks, won't you trigger a death spiral of other replacements? New forks change the caliper mounting point, which changes the caliper, which changes the rotor, which changes the rim, which changes the tire, which changes the fender, which bumps into the engine, etc.

Plus you don't have just the diameter of the forks, you have their length to worry about.

There are few locally that come with the forks and all the calipers, rotors and even rims and tire.

So if I find forks with all that then id only have to worry about the length? And making sure the tire fits if the new forks are mounted?

The length is actually the least of your worries. Fork width, fork stem length, fork stem diameter and bearing size. Then there is adjusted take and trail of a different front end. If the entire front end will bolt right on, you're mostly set.
So it really isn't that simple or maybe it is. But you don't know until you make all the measurements.

PS That's an awesome list of possibilities and if something works, you can really upgrade the front end of your Blast.

You could also just buy a set of tubes. Forking by Frank should have them or order stock. But if your front end is more messed up than just bent tubes, you might want to check the frame.

I'm pretty sure it's just the bent tubes. There isn't any other apparent damage beyond the forks.

Seems like a lot of measuring and getting things to match as close to the stock ones as possible right?

Since I have to replace the tubes I'd like to out something better than stock if possible. I figure if ur gonna fix it then make it better.

Concur! But if you change the entire front end, there isn't any reason to limit yourself to 37mm tubes. That would make it simpler too. Only the fork tree has too fit. The length won't be must of an issue unless you use a dirt bike front end!

I was looking at buell parts on ebay last night and there was a complete blast front end for sale on there.
