Is the price in the title correct? $860? If so, I'll be there tomorrow with a truck. |

Sold - Joe picked it up earlier today and is headed north with another Ulysses for his collection. Very cool guy, everything went well. Thanks to everyone for their interest. |

I had no idea I could drive in one direction for 3 hours...and not leave Maryland. You're DEFINITELY "down there", wow!! But, the traffic was the worst part of the whole day (and still completely liveable...that's why I carry 32 oz of coffee!). Got it home, unloaded...and I need to get the parts organized. Thanks a ton Chris - as I said, it may (will) donate some cool stuff to my 06, especially since it goes on the lift this week for it's 30k, then once I'm done with my Defender restoration...it may get rebuilt. Not sure yet. But...it is among friends Thanks again!! |

Ratbuell, if you have a spare set of luggage racks and/or cases you'd part with, let me know. Good score, looks like a beauty. Matt |

Rat, if you want to share that VIN, build date, and milage and get it in the crank failure repository, I'll add it. |

Ratbuell- Congratulations on that deal- sweet! Not sure if you've followed the crank failure threads on BB&D. If you decide to rebuild it, at least a couple of guys have rebuilt their engines with 08-up crankshaft/rod assemblies. Cost is the same or less than the 07 part, and is a significant upgrade (larger crankpin, stronger rods). |

For sure... if there ever was a candidate for a rebuild that bike above is it, it is beautiful and well set up. And at that price, it makes a ton of sense. Buy it for $1000, put another $4000 into a nice quality rebuild and going over (new wheel bearings, motor mounts, etc), and you have an incredible bike for $5000. |

Bill- Note the mileage for the failure (49.6k miles); that must be a record high for an 07 crank failure. |

That's true. As much as I hate to admit it, for a 100Hp air cooled long stroke motor, a crank rebuild at 50k almost falls in the category of "yeah, well, what do you expect?!?!". |

Not sure what I'll do with it yet. It's slotted behind a turbocar engine rebuild (one of 15 '89 Shelby CSX-VNT, documented magazine car, putting the NOM motor back together and back in); another car's turbo replacement; a late model 5.7 Hemi into a 72 Satellite wagon; and my 98 S3 Defender restoration. And that's not counting my day, second, or third jobs. Or maintaining my daily drivers. Or my bikes. Or friends' bikes that come in for service. Or my house. If anything gets sold...it'll show up here on Badweb first. |
