To help keep these on the road and to keep from giving money to the company which shut down Buell, we need a monster cross reference thread.
Could everyone add something and a moderator could put up a chart or something which can't be modified by the members (to keep it orderly)?
I'll dig up some part numbers tomorrow.

I've seen oil filters, relays, O2 sensors, TPS's, fuel injectors, and fuel pumps posted. I'll see if I can dig up some P/N's and post them here.

Here's an O2 sensor posted earlier today by EG:

Looks like it fits a whole bunch of GM cars, so it should be easy to find.

Yeah, something like that BUT only a moderator can add to so it stays orderly and doesn't get clogged up with 10,000 semi-off topic posts which things tend to do.
Bet you can't guess what function I serve on some audio sites...

OK, I spent some time this morning compiling a list from various threads here at Badweb and the BuellXB forum. I'll post separately below.

If anyone else has more numbers or corrections, please post up. Hopefully we can get Froggy or another moderator to fix it when we're done as suggested by Steve.

It'd be very good to add any Sportster or other HD parts that are direct replacements or that can be made to fit. IIRC, the 2008-up stator is the same as the one on a Sportster except for the length of the leads; what about the V/R? There are bound to be other parts like this.

Just added a link to Tootal's profile so people can PM him for info on the replacement throttle shaft for 2006's. I believe it could be adapted to later XB's; IIRC the pin in the end which engages the TPS is 90 degrees off from the later models.

I had to be sure it worked before I posted it here, but it seems to work like a charm.
Overrun clutch assembly for the starter drive, complete clutch, gear and two bearings with the spring for the pinion. You need to reuse your old pinion as long as the gear is okay. Drag Specialties P/N 79-2101-A.
Ran me about $60 only because I wanted it now and a local shop had it in stock. You might find it online for less.

Awesome idea & list! Definitely going to file this one.

Question: wasn't there some discussion a year or so ago regarding what looked like compatible oil filters on the outside, but were incompatible on the inside (based on level/design of filter material? I didn't know if those listed passed QA/QC...

This is partly why previously there has been no master "cross over" list. Many components listed aren't compatible with every year/model, many may fit but not function correctly. Many may work fine, while some things won't work well. Having an individual thread discussing one thing like spark plugs would be best, where people post up experiences with specific models, different heat ranges, compatibility with specific years, and so on.

Spark plugs and oil filters should be fairly easy to confirm. If the manufacturer doesn't have a listing for Buells it should at least be possible to get their equivalent for a known good part number from another manufacturer.

XB eight and six piston pads are specific to Buells only and nothing else will fit. The rears are a common pad and fit many other bikes.

Thank you for the info Hughlysses. Very cool.

I see no reason, as some have worried on before, why this bike could not be run forever. Lets face it HD have left us to sort out our own problems and were not much help anyway.

Great list Hugh! For the record the throttle body shafts have been modified to fit 2007's too. They have both holes in them so just use the one that matches your shaft. Seems a lot of late build 2006's ended up with the 2007 tps sensor and shaft and had a few guys with this issue so I just made them work for everybody.

Precision Harley in Pawtucket, RI Has a guy named Trip in parts who is the man for Buell stuff. I know he has a list of Harley part numbers that match the Buell parts. I find they are decent people at Precision and if you can get over the fact your buying from Harley and you live in the area at least you have one real good parts guy to talk to.

^ I doubt very much we'll find a direct replacement for the cooling fan; I'm pretty sure that's a made-for-Buell part. The fans are made by SPAL in Italy. The outer portion of the fan appears to be made specifically to fit in the hole in the XB frame. OTOH, the inner portion (the actual motor and fan blades) may be common to some other fans they make. If the OEM fans become unavailable at some point, it may be able to use parts from another SPAL fan to replace these. I know that the fans on the EBR 1190RS look similar to these, so that's one possible source for a replacement.

If you dig around a little in old threads in this section, you can find threads on disassembling the fan. It seems that when fan failures do occur, it's generally caused by bearing failure. There are two sealed ball bearings, one at either end of the motor. Research by one Badwebber on an early (2006 or 2007) Uly fan indicated that under hot conditions, the seals on the bearings and the lubricant used were operating just outside of their maximum temperature range (getting too hot) and this likely contributed to failures.

Like many other parts on the bike, the fan has been upgraded several times. From what I've seen in the last few years, failures only occur if a leaky rear rocker gasket is allowed to go too far, which soaks the fan in oil, causing it to get coated in dirt, drag, etc. which eventually causes failure.

I guess if they do become unavailable, it would be straightforward to just put in a slightly smaller fan attached to a sheet of ABS thermally formed to fit.
