Any ideas pics of your bike would help me out a lot. I was going to get the one I saw online, but I don't want to spend the xtra 300 for the carbon fiber undertail. I just want to loose that ugly stock plate holder, any ideas you guys did in your own garage |

I chopped that whole area off and made a box to fit. Fabricated my own plate holder. However I was looking at this kit on the bay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/271267000546?ssPageName=ST RK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Looks like a decent amount of fiddle- is required to make it work, but it will clean it up and not cost $150 for a carbon fiber undertail. |

Good find!!that's a heck of a deal. I am going to have to put that before I buy the aftermarket pipe, cause the stock plate holder is a eye sore |

Nice job man..looks real good, is too bad I don't have the tool to make the bends on the metal if not I would tackle it my self. |

If you feel creative this can be accomplished with your stock plastic pan. If you cut out the angle piece and heat up the bent part with a heat gun "carefully" you can bend the bottom up and glue it to the top. It is pretty seamless and I repainted mine after with low gloss black . You would have to look pretty hard to find the mod.. I don't have any pictures , but I have a camera..:-) |

"scrap aluminum" right, whazzat ? NICE BIKES, both. Love the yellow and black one. But needs a yellow front fender, and paint or anodize the rotor carrier black! Very nice. |

Jramseys bit is cleaner , I like the way he covered up where the wires go.. Always another way to make things look cleaner.. Nice work. |

I agree his looks nice n tight but I do not have access to a machine to make the bends perfect like his.I got the link to a store on ebay that he gave me who makes the pieces for it, but until I come up with the cash im going to try what you did.hey it free lol.. Now as far as the trunk key lock where did you place yours? and you still don't have a undertail pic for me lol |

I made this to fit between the taillight and the plastic undertail/pan. It's a scrap chunk of aluminum sheet I cut with an electric grinder. I made it a little wide and bent ears to hold the signals. The LED holder on the bottom slipped in as an afterthought, and fits on the lower bolts only just for extra safety on the road. Clearly others have a MUCH better approach to quality than mine, this was a lunch hour project at work. I've seen another M2 with the taillights in the pan where my extra side markers are. Maybe this winter . . . (Message edited by coxster on October 04, 2013) |
