Hello everyone.. I'm new to the board and also a new owner of a 2000 Buell S3T. I plan to put it on the road on Monday if to do nothing more than run some gas through as it has sat for while. I'm sure you'll see dumb questions coming from my way, but that's how some of us learn, isn't it? I've been riding most of my life (I'm 52) and this bike is quite a departure for me as my other bike is a 2011 HD Ultra classic.. together my two bikes I like to call Thunder and lightning.. The S3T is actually in really nice shape and only has 10,300 miles on it.. I am the 3rd owner..the 1st one had it from 2000-2009 and second from 2009-2013..it looks like both of them treated the bike well. I'm looking forward to learning a lot and tweaking things over the winter...in a good way of course. Jeff |

Welcome to the zoo! I'm also the proud owner of a 2001 S3T... I've got 76K miles on mine. Barry |

Welcome , I have a 2010 Ultra classic and a 99 X1 as well as an 82 FLH The poor 82 doesn't get ridden much anymore . When I need to go fast I like the X1 , for distance and two up I really enjoy the Ultra . Lets see some pictures of the S3 . |

Welcome. Dumb questions are the ones not asked. So be sure to ask away! Good luck! |

Thanks for the Welcome... The S3 is tucked in the garage on the lift right now, but she'll be out on Monday. I'll snap some photos and put 'em up |

Jordan_s3t: Welcome, we are in a similar situation (including age). I bought my 2000 S3T last year and am actually the 4th owner and it had just over 5k miles on it. I now have a tad over 17k on it (I commute on the S3T pretty much every day). Mine actually had the original tires on it and never had the 5k service done. I had to replace the top end gaskets, tank breather hose and rear shock (it puked after a couple days). The previous owner removed all the skins to clean it up for sale and misplaced a bunch of little bits (seat lock, fairing bags, helmet hooks and straps) which I have since replaced. Where are you located? Looking forward to pictures. |

Hey Airbozo.. I'm in Upstate NY near Albany. The tires on my bike are close to toast, so I'm looking at getting new shoes over the winter. The previous owner had it serviced at an HD dealer that still will work on Buells. I do have a few things to do besides tires.. one is re-locate the primary breather that was mounted in such a way to crack a nice carbon fiber inner fender..good thing I have the original unit. I'm not sure, but this bike might have the XB rockers on it as I can't find the head breather outlets anywhere.. I'll do a little more digging after the season is over..But generally, it's in real good shape, even the dash clock still works. The bike also has the factory race kit (with ECM) and what looks to be a V&h muffler. The bag latches still function but I'm almost considering using throw over bags or a ventura rack/bag to keep them that way as the latches are becoming close to unobtanium Jeff |

Nice Jeff, great place. I am on my 4th set of tires in a year, 2 fronts got nails and I ride hard and burn through the rest. Running pro pilot II's currently. I recently took my bags off due to a nasty crack forming in one. It got to about 10" before I noticed it. Winter time repair is planned. My first experience with fiberglass. Good luck! |

As far as the bags, drill the access hole in top now, keep a nail in your fairing bag, and you've always got access. :-) It will look tons better than through over bags. If you're skeptical, let me know and I'll relieve you those unreliable bags. |
