I thought F1 had given up trying to race at Indy and were happy with COTA now? It is probably a bully boy tactic by Bernie Ecclestone to get more money from COTA. F1 has spent years trying to break into America with little success. I've ost count of the number of circuits they have tried to get a market share over there. I think the answer is to put a Chevy saloon body on the F1 chassis and get them all to turn left only Oh and get them to talk in a good ole southern drawl too (I suspect Kimi Raikenen may find this difficult!) |

Indy was the site where all the Michelin-shod drivers REFUSED to race and instead did one lap and pulled into the pits. Doubt F1 would be welcomed back after that. (Message edited by jaimec on September 17, 2013) |

Michael Jordan Racing have abandoned the AMA Superbike finale at Laguna in order to race as wild card entries in the WSb race at the same event. Clever decision, especially as the WSB field is looking extremely thin, with regular riders out through injury. Both Hayden and Eslick should score points in the WSB race, which will give far more publicity and TV coverage than even winning the AMA races. Provided they can adapt to the Pirelli tyres fast enough Jordan will have a distinct advantage over most of the entries. WSB hasn't been to Laguna since 2004 so only the ex GP riders will know the place. |

I agree Trojan, good decision on Jordan's part. Wouldn't it be nice to see Hayes and Herin join them. Seems as if the AMA is in a downward spiral. |

I hope they don't pull a Young, and embarrase themselves. |

I agree Trojan, good decision on Jordan's part. Wouldn't it be nice to see Hayes and Herin join them It would be nice, but I can't see it happening. Hayes & Herrin have a championship to fight for whereas Hayden and Eslick can't finish higher than they already are, so have nothing to lose and everything to gain by racing in WSB. EBR could have got some massive publicity by doing the same though. I hope they don't pull a Young, and embarrase themselves. This is WSB not MotoGP, so they won't be embarressed by having to race a back yard special (with all respect to Attack, compared to the big factories that is what it was) against the might of Honda and Yamaha. Blake Young is actually racing in WSB this weekend for Crescent Suzuki, as a stand in for Leon Camier, so I would expect him to be the leading US runner in WSb Superbike. |

I'm still hoping EBR can pull off a manufacturers standings win over KTM. Getting to be a long shot at this point, but I'm still hoping. In AMA superbike, I don't know if it is a twins vs fours things, or just a spending and development thing, but the twins sure seem to be at a disadvantage. They seemed to be built to keep a Ducati cheater bike out, when Ducati had no interest in putting one in. What are the twins vs fours rules in WSB? |

Trojan, i would have to disagree. he has not raced all year. He is out of tune. If eslick gets a good bike he can make something for himself. I agree that it would have been nice for ebr to race, but they don't have a rider for it yet. |

Ducati does great marketing, they make their brand sound like they are the bike to beat, yet they dont even get on the AMA grid. great marketing goes a long way |

We spoke to Michael Barnes at Millville regarding his wildcard ride at COTA. He said they told him: "Don't you or that bike ever come back again." |

he has not raced all year. He is out of tune. If eslick gets a good bike he can make something for himself The difference is that Young is riding a biek developed specifically for WSB rules and tyres, not an AMA bike hastily adapted for Pirelli tyres and running AMA spec engine internals etc. The Crescent team will hit the ground running with their bike and their other full tie rider (Cluzel) able to give immediate and useful feedback tot he team. Young will add his experience of Laguna to the mix. Eslick and Hayden may do well, but they have the disadvantage of having to run an AMA bike in WSB competition, with just the tyres changed. The differences between the two bikes/series is crucial and quite extensive and despite both looking like Suzuki GSXR 1000's there is not much similarity between the Jordan bikes and the Crescent/Yoshimura machines. Hopefully Hayden & Eslick will score decent points and get the attention of team owners for next year outside the AMA, but Young is definitely in the best seat available for US riders this weekend. yet they dont even get on the AMA grid. great marketing goes a long way AMA writes the rules, and if Ducati say they don't suit them then they don't race If AMA wants Ducati back they will have to make the rules change to suit the twins again. |

Eslick hasn't done well all year. Other then the last race. Young leader??? I doubt it Matt. Plan on Roger being that rider to lead the US riders. Young has no time on the Cresent bike even though its a better bike then the AMA spec bike. |

I'm choosing Davies to win at Laguna. He and Marco are the ones with prior knowledge of the track |

He and Marco are the ones with prior knowledge of the track To be honest at this level it takes only a morning for the top guys to learn the track. Knowledge from MotoGP 4 years ago won't really count for much. Hayden would also be my tip for best US rider IF he was on a WSB bike. |

We'll see Matt AMA spec bike or not. As far them learning the track?? I was there when GP came back. Watched them fumble and make mistakes. I wouldn't say that to early if I was you. |

The extra hp of the WSBK-spec bikes won't make much difference at Laguna, where there aren't enough long straights where they'd have an advantage. I think the Jordan boys will open a few eyes. And I expect Blake Young to be running at the front. We'll see. |

I don't expect much out of Blake. Hes not training and hasn't like Roger. Roger has given more fuss to the two Josh's in AMA then any other. I gotta say he'll do good. |

Dana; you called it. Roger Lee and Danny are 3rd and 4th after the first practice session. Blake Young is 19th over two seconds/lap slower. I would dearly love to see Roger Lee and Slick kick ass. |

Looks like the AMA guys would be the first 2 rows in WSBK? Of course this is just from practice 1 |

Roger had some crap goin on with the bike to my understanding this morning. I think he'll finish best out of our rider though. We have Eslick in a top ten start and Roger just out of it. I think he'll come back. |

Until Rogers Mishap he was running 10th and closing on 9th. Young did 12th and on quite a piece of Machinery. Tomorrow is another day. |

Once again the Death Star (Daytona motorsports Group) strikes another blow to American Sportsbike and Superbike racing. Someone needs to step up cause they sure as hell aint doing squat in that office. I hope they move quickly seeing how 99% of all the racing divisions I'm involved with, have locked in scheduling for 2014. This is inexcusable. |
