Author Message   Whisperstealth Posted on Friday, September 20, 2013 - 06:40 pm:        Well, at 45,825 my clutch cable had had enough and broke right as I was entering my driveway. I had already bought a new cable when I noticed the old one had a couple broken strands, so I had one on hand. It was getting late and I was losing light on the car port, but decided to start taking the old one off anyway. I took it off to the point where it was laying straight out on the ground, with the clutch end still installed. Figured it would be alright until morning. WRONG. Overnight primary fluid ran through the cable housing and leaked all over the carport. So in addition to completing the repair I now have to get some cat sand and clean up a big mess. So let this serve as a warning. Don't leave the clutch cable laying on the ground for a long time if still installed in the primary, because it will leak!! Other than that, the repair went well. I adjusted the clutch as well, and am now able to start the bike while in gear by pulling on the clutch lever. It's been a while since I was able to do that.
