After considering all of the options available to economically lower my XT about 1-1.5" I have concluded that going the shorter, stiffer spring route is best for me (I'm light, travel light and always ride solo). After researching aftermarket springs I found that HyperPro/Progressive offers a nice selection of springs for various Buell models. The question is which spring in their offering will do what I am looking for. Has anyone installed one of these shorter/stiffer springs on their stock XT shock yet? What spring was used? Otherwise, if anyone has the # rating of the stock XT spring and it's OAL, I can then call Hyperpro/Progressive to determine which spring might do the job. Thanks for your feedback. Rich |

I haven't changed out the spring, but you can shoot Jasonb a PM and he might be able to help you get part of the way there: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/boar d-profile.cgi?action=view_profile&profile=jasonb-u sers I'll send you a PM in just a minute. |

Do you know about the low seat for Ulys? Most Ulys have the standard height (except '06), but there is an optional tall seat and low seat. this might be better than compromising your suspension. |

Arry, I think the 08 XT already has the lowest profile seat Buell offered for the Ulysses model. At least that is what I have read...or am I wrong? Thanks. Rich |

I used Hyperpro progressive springs in the forks and rear shock to lower my '07 Ulysses an inch. Very pleased with results. Bike seems to handle a bit better. Probably have ridden about 40,000 miles since the switch and still pleased |

Yes, I saw that kit for sale on their website but only for the X and not the XT. I was just considering a lowering spring for my XT rear as I have room to slidethe front tubes up the trees 1". Is there anyone in the USA that retails the rear XT lowering springs? Thanks. |

Rbuck check specs on 06 XB12SS rear shock, in 07 and later the ss and xt used the the same shock and spring the 06 is is supposed to lower you by +- one inch. how is it working to slip the fork tubes? |

Nope. The XT never shared the shock or spring with any other model. You may be confusing the SS and STT, after the STT was discontinued the SS switched to the STT components (2009-2010 models). |
