Okay...am I going to destroy this muffler if I try jacking the bike up as if it had a stock muffler? How else to best jack this thing up to change tires or belt? Thanks. R | ||

Yes. jardine are ************* and would crumple like a bean can if you use it aas a jacking point. Use a decent paddock stand under the swingarm. | ||

Ignore the shipping calculator, call or email them for an accurate quote. T-Rex makes a set of stands that are also good. Not quite as nice as the Pit Bull stands, but about half the price. | ||

I have a jardine and love it btw. I had to custom make a wooden brace for underneath there and then jack it up. Otherwise I've found it's really easy to remove the can. Just 2 bolts and the springs, or just 2 bolts and it'll pivot out to the side and out of the way - if there's now lower chin plastic still there. | ||

Uly-dude, Can you post a pic of the brace you made????? I also enjoy the deep sound of this muffler. The original owner installed the titanium version on my bike and it has taken on a goldish tone which looks really cool. From what I understand these mufflers are rebuildable as well as tunable for sound output...so what is to not like about it? | ||

You'll get plenty of rebuild practice once it starts falling apart. Twins shake. A lot. Jardine makes cans mostly for IL4s, which generally run much more smoothly and don't beat up the components nearly as much. They simply aren't stout enough to last. There's a reason they're so cheap. | ||

How long can you expect a Jardine to last? I use my Useless like a car and do 500 miles a week just commuting which sucks. | ||

Hey now, quit slamming the Jardines. This can is the lightest of them all and it'll never rust. Yes, there are rivets that you should keep an eye on due to vibration. This is because it's repackable which is a good thing. I've got over 10k miles on my Jardine and it's holding up great. Plus you can even buy an insert for the outlet if you'd like to quiet it down. It's a nice option for only $30 bucks. None of the others can do all this. But yes, you can't use a jack on it. That's one of it's downfalls. I built a wooden adapter to go between my floor jack and the bike, saving the muffler from being crunched. Here's some pictures;     | ||

Really my only complaint with mine was that it was objectionably loud even with the quiet insert. Other than that, I had no issues, but then I didn't have it long enough to test the longevity. | ||
