I'm looking for a Uly to get more leg room for touring, compared to my XB9S. I've read that the 2006 has a higher seat than later models. Do 2006 bikes, in fact, have more leg room than later bikes? If that's the case, will a 2006 seat swap on a later model year and fit properly while increasing leg room? Thanks! |

Yes, the 2006's came with a taller seat; something like 1.5 inches taller than later versions. All Ulysses seats are interchangeable, and the "tall" seat was later sold as an accessory. There was also a "low" accessory seat in 2006 that was slightly different from the 2007-2010 standard seat. Check this thread for pictures of all three versions: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=142838&post=760948#POST760948 If that's not enough leg room for you you can also buy aftermarket footpegs with additional drop (1" and 2" IIRC) to give even more room. |

Here are the 2" drop pegs: http://www.preeng.com/xcart/Billet-Ulysses-Footpeg s-2-Drop.html I don't see the 1" drop pegs listed but they may still be available. The guy makes quality stuff and is a Badweb sponsor. |
