The worry is that other than Scott Redding we don't seem to have any real talent coming through the lower ranks (Joh McPhee is good but I don't think world class....yet). Danny Webb just left to go to WSS and there really isn't another Brit (or American) on the GP horizon for the forseeable future unless Sam and Alex Lowes manage to get a decent Moto2 ride soon.
Likewise for the US riders, and it really needs a team like GP Tech or Attack to step up and run a full time team to bring on young US riders. James Rispoli showed that they can do it and wasn't disgraced in the Moto2 race, despite running the desperately uncompetitive Tech 3 Mistral chassis. The Attack CRT bike is unfortunately not even close to being competitive, and you have to wonder how a team that hasn't even got a spare chassis and with a bike that is 6 seconds off the pace can be allowed to start (even if the rider did conveniently crash almost straight away!). Surely there must be a minimum equipment level for GP teams set by DORNA or the FIM?

Did you read the rest of what he said? He spent the first part saying how it was a harsh move and Nicky had no room etc etc, then said (Eventually) that they weren't going to fall out over it!. Having hit each other three times now I think that the public face is very different to what goes on behind closed doors.

Bradley said he had a rear end problem right from the start of the race, and ran off track early on (which is what brought him back to the Ducatis in the first place). He was happy to pick up two positions at the end but certainly wasn't happy with his performance.
Just for the record, Nicky and Dovi were battling with each other repeatedly throughout the race. I watched several passes and re-passes in the turns 2 through 4 area for a good part of the race; and I'm pretty sure that contact was made on at least one occasion, and maybe more. Matt, if Nicky has been with Ducati for quite a few years, while others have come and gone, and if Honda is putting pressure on LCR to field a second bike so Nicky can stay in Moto GP, maybe he has more talent than you see. Honda is many things, but they're not stupid. I doubt they would go out of their way to find a bike for a has been. It was a treat to see Rossi get his Mojo back during the race. He had a crappy weekend. He wasn't able to get up to speed it seemed, throughout the event. To see him light up and pursue and catch Crutchlow and Bautista, them pass them was classic. If only he could have found it sooner, he might have placed higher.
Honda sees an opportunity to sell more HONDAS, thats all. they know Nicky is the best American rider, i was hoping spies would be that guy, but i think he is on his way out too soon.

I don't deny that Nicky has huge talent (even the least fast MotoGP rider has way more talent than 99.999% of riders). My argument is that in 10 years he has won just 3 GP's. If it were not for the fact that he helps sell bikes in the US for Ducati & Honda that record would not have been good enough to keep his spot based on results alone.
However my major argument about him (and others) staying in the top teams in GP racing is that he has had his shot at it, and there are plenty of young riders around that deserve to be in MotoGP but can't get decent rides right now. It isn't just Hayden. Edwards, Abraham, De Puniet and a few others have tried and failed to live up to their expectations, so should leave (although as Abraham's dad owns his team I can't see hinm getting sacked sadly).
If they were good enough to still win races then maybe there is a good argument to stay, but none of these guys are ever going to trouble the podium again unfortunately.
There are some very good riders in Moto2, WSS and domestic championships that could do well at GP level if given a opportunity, including a good few young US riders that came through the Red Bull Rookies series.
Lastly, on the subject of Nicky & Dovi fighting throughout this race (and Laguna & Assen)........The first major rule in any motor racing is DON'T TAKE YOUR TEAM MATE OUT! Both riders seem to have forgotten this rule this year and somebody at Ducati should be shouting abuse very loudly into their ears by now. Even if they don't crash into each other, fighting for places slows you down (as if Ducati need that right now!) much more than working together. If they had any sense they would slipsteam each other to a much better lap time and position, which would only benefit them both surely?
Unfortunately, rider nationality is going to become even more important now that MotoGP is moving into South America and Asia, and I'm sure we will see a lot more riders from Malaysia/Indonesia/Brazil etc come through from minor championships who have very little to offer in terms of talent but will arrive with large bags of sponsor money and DORNA support
(Please note - I have absolutley nothing against talented riders getting through based on ability, regardless of nationality)
Doni Tata PRADITA, Thitipong WAROKORN and Rafid Topan SUCIPTO have all managed to snag top class rides in Moto2 based on nothing but nationality and sponsor money. All three are pretty useless (in world class competiton terms) and wouldn't trouble most domestic series leaders in AMA/BSB, but still get the opportunity to race in GP's. It is a bit of a joke really

Dorna needs to create opportunity for more riders from other nations othern then spain. each team should be required to have 2 motogp riders. the rides of each need should be from diferent continents. we need to weed out all these old guys that should not be racing anymore. maybe the AMA champ and the WSB champ should be required to sign for a team after they have won 2 championships. we need to get hayses out of AMA so ther guys get a crack at it. we need to put some grease and start moving the racers along. like rossi , he has been there wayyyyy to long. there are plenty of younger guys that could do do just as well with that factory yamaha
Your pathological dislike of Valentino Rossi defies explanation. Dorna pretty much knows that their income will take a SIGNIFICANT hit when he retires. He is still capable of winning races (which he did recently) and is still the most exciting racer to watch on the track (and if you missed his performance in Indianapolis, more the pity).
Marquez reminds me a little of Valentino. He didn't just grab the hole shot and hammer out a gap, he "stalked" Pedrosa and Lorenzo (just as Rossi LOVES to do) and bided his time, watching their strengths and weaknesses and deciding where he had the best opportunity to make a pass that would stick.
Lorenzo and Pedrosa (and the retired Casey Stoner), on the other hand, like to just grab the hole shot and build a gap. This has worked very well for them (and for Josh Hayes in AMAPro Superbike as well) but it doesn't make for the most exciting racing.
I'd much rather watch a race with riders like Rossi and Marquez. Just a damned shame Marquez' contract is with the "Evil Empire."
Jaime get used to Honda being around. No use to hate.... without them there is no Motogp. As far as Hayes??He almost 40 and almost can't be beat. The young need to step it up. Rossi is more then capable and still shows it.
lets get back to the old man rossi. first of all he has the same bike as lorenzo and he is nowhere near lorenzo. if he can't keep up, he should give that bike to someone new. like crutchlow!
i think you are wront to say Motgo GP needs Honda. yamaha could step it up and take that nice contract, after all Toyota has a large steak in yamaha so they have money, well maybe not as much since toyota has been gettiign their ass whipped by ford lately. Actually wrong they are different. The riders make them different is setup. Rossi may be having issues with setup because of riding style as Lorenzo may not. Lorenzo had problems last race... he faided as Rossi was comin on strong at the end and Lorenzo is the smoothest rider on the grid.BTW he just beat Crutchlow.lol

Here another way to compare riders and bikes. This isn't Motogp. Look at Hayden and Eslick. Hayden is givin it his all and actually in the points and Eslick is having a worse year then last. Like you said they are on identical bikes right?? Would you say Eslick is not a good rider??? Thing is they are on identical bikes down to every nut and washer.
sounds like eslick made a mistake to move to suzuki, that is what it sounds like,lol but i guess suzuki had a bigger wallet, so you can't blame the guy. if he really wnated to have a chance to win he would have gone with yamaha. myabe eslick back in ebr next year.
first of all Lorenzo is injured, the fact he gets on the track to get points is truly to be respected. look at spies, I guess he figures if he is not riding he wont show how bad he is.
Nothing wrong with the Suzuki. Hayden is showing that by Hayden placing top three all the time. And Rossi rode with a rod down his leg and didn't complain. Lorenzo had to pass a test to see if he was fit enough and did. Also couldn't of been to bad ...he was riding at Colin Edwards Boot camp before indy.
You know; just because a steak is large, it doesn't mean that it's better than a smaller steak. Personally, I prefer a Rib Eye steak, about 12 ounces or so. A two pound chuck steak would taste nowhere near as good, and would probably be tough as nails. Tenderloin steaks are usually smaller yet, but I personally find a Rib Eye to be tastier. Now, Yamaha and Toyota probably prefer Kobe beef which I've never tasted, but it's supposed to be legendary. I'm perfectly content to enjoy a nice Hotel Grade Delmonico from a Black Angus steer that's been properly aged. Then again; I also have a bizarre love for White Castle hamburgers as well as Tina's Red Hot Beef Burritos. My tastes are somewhat, um, eclectic.
Anyone who's had either will tell you that soft tissue damage takes a LOT longer to heal than broken bones. You can PLATE a broken bone; with soft tissue damage, all you can do is not use the part (tough to do, if even possible) until it heals.
Once it does heal, it's likely atrophied and needs some SERIOUS physio to get it back up to snuff.
How long do you think it'll take Marquez to jump to the top tomorrow?
