Hey guys - Rhonda needs a bit of front end work, and rather than do the "Hang it from the rafters" thing again, I decided to splurge on a Pit Bull stand from American Sport Bike. Al was good enough to w-mail me back and let me know that the manufacturer says that their stand won't work with an S2, although they don't say why. Al thinks maybe interference from the fairing Anyone using a fork stand for the front end on their S2? If so, what did you have to do to make it work? |

Now...I use the triple tree stand, not the fork stand that supports the bottom of the legs... |

The one that uses a pin that goes to the underside of the fork stem on the triple tree, right? |

Same Pit Buell front stand works on my S1 and S2. Just really have to watch the clearance on the fender when putting the peg in. |

I too have both front & rear pit bull stands. The front is the convertible type... Does both forks & tripe tree. BUT.... The S2 that I would use the front stand the most has a TINY hole under the tree. All others it will work on. Guess ill b changing out the tree this winter. Check ur hole b4 purchase |

I looked. I see what you mean. I have a tiny hole. Funds for Pit bull stand diverted to a hand held Warn power winch that will actually be a lot more versatile, at the same price. I guess I'll just keep dangling her from the garage rafters... |

I have the pit bull stand, and have used it on my RS, which was converted to S2 bodywork, and also used it on Penny's S2T. The type that lifts under the bottom tree. You need the proper pin, and have to be VERY careful to get it to not hit the fairing when putting the bike up. If you do that, no problems. Back of the bike goes up first with the usual swingarm stand, of course. I actually haven't used the front lift in several years, since both those bikes are gone. |

OK, I just checked. I have 3 pins for my pitbull - XB, tuber, and 1125. My tuber pin fits my 01 M2L with the X1 front end; it fits my 98 S1W; it fits my 98 S3 Defender...and it fits my (late) 95 S2, #1365. Now...the back of my brain itches with a distant memory about something having to do with "early" and "late" triple trees on the S2. There's a way to spot the difference visually...but I'll be damned if I can remember it offhand. Must have drowned that brain cell...![](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/clipart/beer.gif) |

Not sure. They are low cost Asian manufacture and I recall I bought the pair off feebay for about a hundred bucks to my door. I was really surprised at how easy and well the front one works. If lifts the bike effortlessly and the bike is very stable while on the stands. I added a crossbar to the rear stand to make it more stiff. They work fine for me.

I use a front Pit Bull stand with the same pin that the other tubers take. It sure doesn't look like enough clearance for the fairing so I always pull that off and lift it over the front fender to get the pin seated. I use a Lockhart for the swing arm. Guys - a PitBull with the correct pin to fit into the tree, will work just fine. I never remove fairings on my S2 before using my stands. |
