Oh suck! It is now 5:00 Friday. I have about another hour of work before I can prepare to leave. My bigger problem is I would have to be back by noonish tomorrow.
Six hours driving up there, six hours driving back, one hour to finish up work, and a couple hours to clean up and load up, let me run the math. Leave here around 8:00pm, arrive there around 2:00am, must leave by around 6:00am to make it home in time for family reunion dinner(I have been warned not to be late). You guys probably will be sleeping from 2:00 to 6:00 and I would still have to set up and tear down my tent in that time.
I had everything planned to be there Thursday evening to Saturday early am. We got rain, on top of our rain. It held up the jobs I was doing as well as having to get six acres mowed and trimmed for the family to-do that is now upon me.
I'm sorry guys, circumstances have eaten the butt out of my making it up there. Also, it was my only time off(yeah right, like is was really time off) to go anywhere for the entire summer.
Shit happens.....again.

I'm home. Already used up all the hot water in the house trying to warm up.

Made it home around 1:00pm. Didn't get too wet. Most of the rain had stopped by the time I left at about 8:30 this morning.

Mostly rain, all cold.

Made it to Charlotte by 4:30. Rear tire pretty well shot. Just got an appointment at 2:00 at Tilley's to replace it. They say they have a Scorpion, my guess it's a sync and not a trail but oh well, I'd feel better about making it home with anything but what I have!
It was great meeting everybody and thanks again Mark for putting it together. I learned things like the Great Wall of China was built by Malaysian's! Who new?
Sorry you couldn't make it Vern. You better make Buelltoberfest! Just sayin!  |

Made it home okay. I stopped about 50 miles into the ride home to find a rain suit. I ended up buying a Screaming Eagle rain suit at a Harley dealer for a not terrible price, but they were confused when they saw the Suzuki...
Glad to see everyone made it home in one piece. |

Great weekend had by all...glad to see everyone again as well. Not sure what water Gary was drinking that caused that to happen?
Ben and I made it home and poured the water out of everything we had.

Glad you-all had a great time. Somehow it always happens there in Harrisville!
Were it not for missing Mark's event there, I would probably have had a great time here. I cooked for 29 people on the grill Saturday and Sunday. Two out of town family couples have stayed on for the week even. We did a splash or two through our mud pit with the 4x4s, but no motorcycle riding as of yet. Ahhhhhggghhh.....I guess it is OK, but I love coming up there to Buell around with you guys.
The weather circumstance is really what killed my trip. If I were there Thursday, I could have been back for Saturday. Dammitall.
Buelltoberfest is on my calendar for sure. |

Always good to hear from you. Life kinda sucks for the last few years, this year being the worst ever. Marriage, finances, all in the dumper. Have to get past a few hurdles before things can get better. Looking forward to getting on with life and put all the negative behind. Heres to the next get together.

Made it back yesterday. Left you guys and went South to Charlotte to visit friends. Picked up a new rear tire a Tilleys HD. They did it right and did it fast! Best dealer experience in a long time! Rode to North Georgia to visit my riding partner and his wife. He turned 81 while I was there!! My mentor!! Met another friend who just happened to be staying in Nashville on Friday night so we split a room and found some microbreweries! Other than the rear tire the Uly ran perfect. Here's a couple of my pics I just cleaned up in photoshop. More to come...
