Trouble code 13 showing up according to ECMSpy hookup today. Oxygen Sensor problem. Anybody run into this? Service manual reads that it could be anything from a loose O2 wire connection, wire open or grounded, to dirty injectors, to even a dirty fuel pump filter. Been seeing the check engine light come on once in awhile for a month or so. Usually appears when I'm doing 65 to 70 mph and will go out when I come down to idle. Spy says Trouble code 13 which is better than alternatives like low oil pressure I suppose. Anybody run into this on their ULY?

Had that on my old XB9, comes and go's according to speed. Changed O2 sensor an was all good.

If you replace the oxygen sensor, I found this tool was an absolute necessity. The "normal" oxygen sensor socket won't fit unless you rotate the engine.

The O2 sensor and the IAT went wrong on my bike but the CEL come did not on. As far as I can tell it only shows an "open circuit" on these IE A broken wire or such and not a bad function of the device.

Run a log with TunerPro or the add on prog for ECM-SPY to see the numbers from the O2 sensor. And check your wiring as well.

Electraglider_1997. If the O2 sensor goes bad it will give the ECM bad numbers and make the bike run like crap because it thinks the bike is either lean or rich. If it does this just turn it off with ECM-SPY or other prog. The bike will then run on only its "base fuel map" but not make any fueling changes via the AFV. It should run well enough unless you want to ride up and down big mountains. Try turning it off anyway to see the results. It will do no harm.

Cracked solder in the ecm is what caused this problem on my '06 Ulysses.

The board in my Uly's ECU looked the same as this one.

I cut it open (different from link above) and re-soldered all the connector terminals to the board; no problem since.

I've got until Thursday before I trip to Sturgis which is a 600 mile day ride. Teeps, I sure hope it isn't the ECM. Uly_man, that's good to know.
I took the airbox base plate off this afternoon to get a good look at the O2 sensor wire and where it plugs into I assume the harness. Thought I might find a worn through spot on the wire's in.sulation but did not. Unplugged it and cleaned that connector up but it seemed well protected from the environment the way that plug is engineered. Washed my air f.ilter and it is in need of replacement since it has a crack in the gasket but will have to do for the trip. It's the original from the Nov 2005 build date. Put all back together and took it for a spin and ran like a champ as usual and no "Check Engine" light came on. Means nothing really since it really has been a recent intermittent ordeal. Will see how it goes over the next 3 days. Fingers crossed.
