I need a shock for my '97 S3. The original is leaking profusely. What's a good price to pay? I've seen a number of NOS units selling on eBay. Does anyone know of a shop that can rebuild mine for less than I'll pay new? I have the type (Showa, I believe) with the non-exposed spring. Buell Customer Service said they won't cover it. Any/all input appreciated. Scott in MA |

Scott, the old shocks can be rebuilt, but in my opinion its not worth it. What you want is a post recall shock.Easy to spot in a pic , the rear eye mount is much larger. The kicker is this shock is shorter eye to eye, you need to replace the shock mount as well. These come up on e-bay as a complete kit once in a while, $100 to $150 would be a fair price if its brand new. The older style shocks are on e bay all the time, but not worth the hassle unless you just need to keep the thing on the road. |

Also looking for a rear shock, for a 98 S3, prefer after market, but would consider the newest Buell Showa shock, if the price was fair and the shock complete, but would really prefer an after market, anybody have one they would like to sell??? thanks Roger |

At this point I'll take clip-ons since my search for some crossroads bars has turned up empty. Ken |

Dan, I am having trouble with the expense of new ones, hoping someone will come off of a set of used ones so I can afford them. "They are under 4200 last time I checked." Ken |
