Too bad they didn't put some stuff out before I bought my BMW. It's growing on me and I dunno if I want to trade now. |

kinda looks like He left room to make it belt drive. why else would that spacer still be in the swing arm? |

Why did they go back to filament signals instead of LED? |

> kinda looks like He left room to make it belt drive. > Why else would that spacer still be in the swing arm? The EBR chain drive design uses captive spackers that rest on the chain tension adjusters. It's an extremely clever design that eliminates the typical, and very frustrating, "all at once" assembly of a Japanese rear wheel. On my chain kit, rear wheel changes are a single-tool, 30-second job. I suspect they will use regular spacers and maybe not even have the trick chain adjusters on the production model to keep costs down (that's speculation), but the conversion to the "good stuff" will be a couple of hundred bucks instead of several thousand for a decent rear wheel quick-change set-up. God bless them for that. |

The LED signals on my 08 1125R have been going fine since they replaced that first batch. Superior performance with regards to illumination time than the filament bulbs. |

After 5 LED signals (3 of them the grey seal ones) blew on my 08 I converted to the 2010 bulb indicators - not had a problem since. Perhaps I was just very unlucky. |

In my opinion, and it's just an opinion as I have no inside info, the 1190RX is going to have all the same basic chassis and body components as the 1190RS. Differences will be - Stock production engine internals - pistons, rods etc. No magnesium wheels No magnesium sub frame Other than hand made radiators and oil cooler Limited/no carbon fiber/fiberglass parts (molded thermoplastic) Sport level forks and shock (showa?) Sport level Brake and Clutch MC (Nissin?) Other than AIM dash Different Mirrors - see pic What it will have that 1190RS does not - Passenger seat and pegs. 10-20 extra pounds. A little less top end horsepower. (perhaps one set of injectors) Better low speed cooling So IMHO, the 1190RX will ride and feel much like an 1190RS. On the street you will not feel a big difference unless you should not be on the street. And it will be half the price. What makes the 1190RS so good, is not just the race level engine, but the way the whole thing feels. I think EBR will make every effort to retain that essential feel. Oh yeah, no Suter Slipper Clutch (Message edited by Rodrob on July 24, 2013) (Message edited by Rodrob on July 24, 2013) (Message edited by Rodrob on July 24, 2013) (Message edited by Rodrob on July 24, 2013) |

Jdugger, I think Imblasted was talking about the cutout in the top of the swingarm that allows belt changes: http://imgur.com/l8yCfdK The 1190RS has the same thing, so I'm going with the assumption it's simply a way to utilize the 1125 parts that were on hand. Your description of the chain conversion's single tool wheel change has me intrigued, though...any pics you can share showing the setup on the bike? *D'oh!* Credit to Deanh8. I need to read more carefully. (Message edited by wymaen on July 24, 2013) |

Ahh... yea, it's in my chain drive kit as well, and I can't remember if you can pass a chain through there or not. I'll get some pics this weekend. We are racing at Texas World. |

Chain will not go through swing arm cutout for belt on 1190. Would have been cool, but as said, basically a hold over. |

The rear wheel setup on the 1190 is badass, Im a motorcycle tech by trade and after working with rob in the pits on his 1190 I thought why the hell hasnt anyone else done this, its such a simple design and helps things so much |

this past weekend I went to a local EBR dealer and saw the 1190RS in person for the first time. That back wheel alone is badass |

Don't forget the electronics, mapping, traction & launch control I'm thinking those are all things that won't make it to the RX, along with the magnesium and carbon fiber. It would bring down cost and leave something for the limited run RS bikes they will probably sell as a homologation model. You'll have the RX and then the RS for twice the money lol...like a having a Ducati 999 for 17K, and then the 999R for 40K. That's just taking a SWAG at it though. This could also be one of the '13 RS bikes. |
