I'm looking to relocate both the Voltage Regulator ande the rear shock resevoir on my Y2K M2 . . .. . . I've seen the VR moved all over the place, on the side of the battery, under the seat . . . any advice/experiences you care to share? Shock Resevoir . . . . with the hose so short, it's clearly no moving far . . . .but I'd love to loose the cheesy-looking hose clamp that is 50% of it's mounting . . . . .I seem to remember someone (Aaron?) saying that he'd moved his off the shock mount . . . .. again, any suggestions are gratefully received |

Bomber; depending on how old your shock is, it may be up for a rebuild soon?? If so, it wouldn't cost much to have a longer hose installed. I'm running the Penske reservoir on the down-tube of the front frame brace (the triangle that the front motor mount bolts to. A better location would be an American Sport Bike frame brace. Henrik |

Henrik thanks for the input . .. . . the shock is about 2 years old, and, thus far, showing . . .. hmmmm, I almost jinxed myself . . .. let's just say that I have no plans to upgrade the chock immediately {smile} my M2 has the tube in the frame that the American Sport Bike frame brace was designed to overcome the lack of (now THERE"S a sentance for ya!), and it would be a great place to put the reservoir . . . . . . I'll likely go to a penske or sumpin when the stock shock goes south thanks again |

Funny. I was just looking at the reservoir on my 2k M2, and thinking the same thing about the cheesy hose clamp. Hmm..., new winter project. |

That "cheesy hose clamp" lasted over 60,000 miles on my S3, and it's lasted over 30,000 on my M2. Maybe it isn't as cheesy as you thought? |

I just happened to be removing the oil-reservoir to get the oil-pump out for a bevel gear inspection. I replaced the "cheesy looking" hose clamp with a wide zip-tie. Hmm..., the zip-tie looks pretty cheesy too. |
