Well, we're just on a roll with interesting EBR news this week! Thanks for posting. |

It is kind of a shame that we only get information from off the wall sources like this. Just craving something, anything from EBR itself. |

...so when do you propose they build the new motorcycles...and the new company...and the new dealer network...and the new factory...with less than 100 employees...while they're busy feeding your need for leaked information? I think their priorities are exactly where they need to be. |

Defensive much? Everyone knows they are incredibly busy building . . something . . no one knows exactly what, but in order to succeed, whatever they are building will need customers, correct? They leaked enough to keep the hype up for the 1190RS, but we haven't seen event a teaser for the, presumed, RX. Don't get me wrong, I am enamored with everything Erik and EBR does, I just think the faithful masses would like something to start saving for. |

Maybe EBR has held off on any additional publicity up to now pending this Hero deal. Now that they have $15M in the bank with a contract for $10M more, they can establish firm schedules for producing bikes. Maybe now they'll be willing to release details of what's coming. |

Maybe they don't want to create a lot of early hype, like...Idunno, a motojourno track test six months before anything is ready for primetime? 1125R pre release? Anybody remember that? Eric was real excited and generous with the media letting them flog pre production mules at the track. For his generosity he was given a lot of press about bad fuelling and wonkey brakes, which turned up in almost any story about the 1125R or it's history. He's gotten so much bad press over the years that I don't blame him, only now that Buell's gone is the US media now overly friendly. I would rather Eric keep it all under wraps until it's all bulletproof than giving the media another chance to back-bite him. |

I agree with everything Sir_wadsalot said, except his mis-spelling of Erik. We do know that EBR will offer at least 3 models in addition to the RS: the RX, SX & AX. We also know that they are going to announce SOMETHING in October at a show mentioned elsewhere on this forum. The link I posted above is confirmation of at least part of the announcement content as well as pricing which I had previously seen rumored elsewhere to be around $18-19k. It is best for Erik and the Elves to control this a LOT better than the 1125R launch for reasons stated above. This is really a pivotal make-or-break time for EBR and I'm sure they will handle it well... All in due time. |

And now for some conjecture and opinion, judging by Erik's previous work! (Message edited by Chameleon on July 02, 2013) |

Conjecture not necessary; it's been in print since last September: http://www.ebrdealer.info/pdf/mpn.pdf

so your opinion is the RX will either be a sport bike or a uly type....uh ok. way to be broad there. i dont see the AX being a dirtbike, thats just my thoughts, but making three bikes and then jumping to the dirt world just doesnt seem right. and the patents you mean - you talking about the ones from years ago for the buell dirtbike? |

Yep Hughlysses; I just couldn't recall where I saw it and didn't want to bother looking up the source. You're right Hybridmomentspass; I meant more like the Motus and have corrected my above post including surmising that the AX would probably be more like the KTM 1190 Adventure. |

RX = race version, similar to the RS, just cheaper. SX = Street fighter, same as the CR or Lightning model. AX = Adventure or Uly style for either offroad (kinda) or touring with the hard bags, etc. |

I'm not defensive, I'm just sick of the whining. "Feed meee informationnnnn..." Bag that. Build a motorcycle. Make it a world-beater. Do it right. Bring a rock-solid product right out of the gate. Personally I could care less if Erik feeds the press. Or sells stickers. Or becomes a t-shirt company that happens to build motorcycles. I suspect the man wants to build motorcycles...and that's what he's doing. I also suspect, since he isn't dedicating his or his staff's time to 'leaking' information or feeding the press or doing product launches, that the team is focused on the product. Which, in my mind, is as it should be. I had a wonderful ride home on my S2 today. Pushed it HARD, and it loved it. Heard myself in my own head saying "wow...this bike is almost 20 years old now...and it still performs extremely well." I don't care about press releases, or instant gratification, or fluff. Build a quality motorcycle - something that can have an effect like my S2 had on me today, two decades after it came off the assembly line. (OK...18 years...pretty damned close) |

I don't mind them selling "EBR" stickers, it's a good way to raise development money! Besides, I can't afford their clothing |
