Does anyone over 30 remember when the sears or best catalog would come out around thanksgiving and you would carry it around like your bible so you could show anyone who asked what you wanted for xmas...duh gi joes and transformers plx. well today I opened the mail to a large glossy EBR dealer swag catalog. Im not a dealer but I did just drop over 200 on hats and shirts. anyways opening the cover was like that time you found your dads playboy as a kid and the first page just blew your mind. I was dizzy, heart rate jumped, dry mouth. not one but FIVE different leather jackets!!! Not to mention every type of pit and mech and sales shirt you could imagine. Underarmor style cold base layer type suits. OMG I need a break, im gonna get ptsd if i cant get a leather jacket that says EBR. Ok, I caught my breath. lots of wet/bad weather jackets and pants. Coveralls. a reversable t shirt with different logos...thats genius. and a carbon fiber jacket among all the light casual jackets. (Message edited by Cleveland11B on July 01, 2013) |

I have one of the original buell / vanson jackets with the hard armor. Those were like $850 back then, the kind of jacket you leave to someone in your will. I do not know who makes the new ebr jackets. The catalog was from m&m designs. Judging on the merch they already make it should be high quality. the ebr gear I have gotten from them is way better than the old Harley made shirts and hats. Higher quality in material for sure. the catalog says that the jackets are exclusive preorder for fall delivery. I will be very buttsore if i cannot order one as a customer since i do not know of a single ebr dealer to order one at. it says call to preorder...so maybe if we all bomb m&m with requests they will open it to the general public. i would scan the whole catalog and post it, but i do not want to anger the gods...and probably be cut off from the gear i want. |

i dont know why they would cut you off because of the extra advertisement if anything, it gets us more ready to drop coin with EBR lol Yes, I have an old Vanson Buell jacket - sucker is nice! I love Vanson, their quality is top-notch! I will say that later Buell jackets didnt feel as quality, felt cheaper....I hope they didnt do the same here. Also - hope they didnt have the shirts etc from outside the USofA or it'll put the foot in the mouth of many on here that complain about HD and their asian shirts etc |

The ebr shirts I got were all Haynes beefy tees with the logos silkscreened or appliquéd or however they did them. there aren't any clothes made in the US anymore except Berry compliant military uniforms. However hopefully the graphics are done domesticly |

there aren't any clothes made in the US anymore except Berry compliant military uniforms. However hopefully the graphics are done domesticly" false my friend runs a store that sells ONLY US made clothes - he gets American made tees for their store shirts all of the time There are MANY USA vendors of clothing out there, including tees - and guess what, they arent much more than outsourced ones. Example - front and back tees screenprinted on USA made tees are something like 7 bucks...and thats only doing 20-30 at a time. Imagine the price break EBR could get making 100+ at a time! THERE IS NO REASON THEY SHOULDNT HAVE USA MADE GOODS! |

What's the name of your friend's store? What's the name of the manufacturer? Would you know that if you weren't friends with the guy? Not to be a jerk, but walk around a Walmart some time and try to find US made clothing. They're 100 guys trying to build bikes, not a clothing company. It's not their fault NAFTA gutted our textiles industry. For the record, all the HD stuff is made in Korea by the same people who make their Korean KBC helmets. Some of the leathers may be made in North Korea. (They weren't sure.) I read an article in motowhatever a few years ago, they toured the KBC factory. Rows and rows of God Bless America, flag waving, HD crap. Me personally, I'm with ya'. I would jump through hoops to get US sourced stuff. I'm guessing it's just not that high a priority right now though. |

thing is - EBR isnt making the clothing, they have this other company doing that hard work sorry, but its crap so many give HD crap for their clothing being made overseas and EBRs stuff might be too? as to your first part - so youre going to compare walmart to EBR? just cause walmart doesnt sell a lot of MIA stuff doesnt mean its not easy to get ahold of. heck, there are a lot of MIA clothes still be made and made for cheap. Check out Texas Jeans (or is it Denim) out of Asheboro NC (i know, dumb name) - MIA jeans for the price youd pay for Vietnamese Levis etc MIA doesnt always cost a lot more. "not to be a jerk" but do research on this stuff before you comment |

That's the point, the fact that I would have to research to find a US clothing maker. If I have to research a thing to find out it exists, and then jump through hoops to obtain it, then it is by it's very nature uncommon. I'm not disagreeing that they "should" US source the stuff, I'm just saying it's a little unreasonable to expect them to as if it's the standard in this country- it's not. It should be, but it isn't. I bet if you took a poll of the Forum here, 99% of us would've never heard of Texas Jeans. If your BFF wasn't a distributor of theirs you wouldn't know who they are either. If I didn't ride a Buell and constantly sing it's praises, (much like you prosthlytising the MIA clothing) no one at sportbikez.net, or at my job, or in my family, would know what the hell an 1125R even was. Hell, Buell's been making motorcycles here since the 80's, but if you say "Buell" at the DMV and they look at you like you're speaking Swahili. I bet they know what "Toyota", or "Kawasaki" means though. I wanted to slap the hell outta that DMV clerk.... Dude, if it makes you feel any better, New Balance is a US company and I wear their shoes all the time. |

actually Sir, hes not a distributor of Texas Jeans at all. They mainly deal with Raleigh Denim, Tellison etc - high end stuff (think 200-300$ jean...OUCH!) And for fun....there are several threads on this site that talk about texas jeans and other USA made clothes. Sir, I see where youre going with this, I do. BUT If a company that prides itself on being American approached you and said 'we want you to handle our clothing dept' is it not your job to find clothes that are the best fit for the company that hired you? Thats part of what they pay them for - research things like that. And this is also a big F-U to many members of the site here - those that bash HD for their imported clothing while our Beloved Buell/EBR is doing the same thing. Its two faced and immature. |

this thread is going down a dark alley. I hate to say thisas a former M.arine and current NG soldier. but the focus has always been on American Motorcycles, im not going to sweat an indonesian tshirt printed in texas with revenue going back to wisconsin. |

@Hybrid- I agree with you, totally, in sentiment. I'm just saying that sadly, that's not the state of affairs in our country right now. I wish it was. And I would have to say HD has earned every bit of acrimony they receive in a Buell forum, on any subject. Fair or not. |

See I dont see how you think they've earned it on a buell forum and then add 'fair or not' ha trust me, i was mega bummed about the closing of Buell...still am. But they made a business decision, is what it is. My issue is people that find every little thing to nitpick about when our beloved Buell/EBR is doing some of same. double standards are BS, in my opinion |

Hopefully, when the EBR's are released... discussions like these will fall to the wayside... for a while anyways. (just the nitpicking-time wasting-potentially insulting ones) |

I was pissed at first when harley closed Buell. However in hind sight I'm actually glad Erik was able to get out from under the oppressive thumb of daddy and finally get back to making bikes the way he wants not being hamstrung by having to use all harley hand me down parts. |

+1 Clevelnd! Nobody's being insulting, it's just a wee debate, and a lot of ppl have harsh feelings toward HD. (I'm actually surprised that more of you don't.) I know I'm all butt-hurt about it..... But Hybrid's right, double standards are indeed BS. Intellectual honesty is always good, and if we're entertaining one another, we're not wasting one another's time, right? Can anyone post a pic of one of these jackets? That would be not a waste of time! Is it this one?

Sir I hope they don't do a deal with one company like Vance. sure they are leather and some are nice, but I think if you are ride an EBR you need top performance gear like one of the GP brands. someone like Alpinestars. when i rde my buell I can only wear my full leathers. top safety gear is a must for me. look at ducati gear. well made and specifically for ducati. when i ride my buell is becuase I like to ride smooth specially carving corners not becuase I want to make pit stops every hour at the next bar. that is Harley(drunk losers) |
