Well, we are getting very excited about pikes peak this year. The 1125/1190CR is coming along nicely; Actually started it for the first time tonight. It sounds wicked.....as should a 15:1 compression ratio 1190! The CR was a more or less complete salvage 2009, We are throwing a bunch of parts at it from my 2008 1125R daytona sportbike. Here are a few shots of the progress.

Looks cool already! What sort of power/torque are you expecting from the motor? |

We are hoping for 150+ at the rear wheel at sea level and a nice smooth torque curve. We stuck with the stock 1125 cams for that very reason and degreed them in on the intake side to optimize torque rather than hp. We should know what it makes on our dyno soon... Also, if anyone has a CR handlebar conversion kit, specifically the throttle cables, brake and clutch line, i am in the market! |

Contact buelliedan on the BadWeb here if you need some high altitude dyno time. I believe his place is located around 5000' plus. Will you be running a fully custom ECM program or one that Erik burns for you? Also, High Country Harley in Frederick Colorado has an 1125 they ran on the hill a few years back. I believe they did some custom mapping. |

Hey J2, thanks for the contacts...It will be a custom map (i have a dyno in my barn) but Pat mooney (manxboy)and EBR gave me some good base maps. It will be good to see what it is doing at altitude however. I also have a wide range O2 feedback system we pieced together from Innovate motorsports components that performed well last year on the XR we are going to adapt to the 1125. |

I wonder if a powerful exhaust fan pumping air from inside an enclosed dyno room couldn't drop the ambient atmospheric pressure enough to replicate race conditions? Careful not to pull down any gypsum board from the ceiling! Good luck and thanks for sharing! |

Too bad I'm not still working at the giant jet engine factory. We had a test cell that could run a jet engine at 30,000 feet altitude and subzero temps. |

So far so good, 3rd fastest in class on Tuesday in middle sector and tied for first fastest today in top sector. The bike is a rocketship and my Dunlop slicks are sticking like glue. Bottom sector practice and qualifying in a couple of hours. I can't thank EBR and Dunlop enough...thanks for all the support and well wishes. I am giving it 100% and the bike is phenomenal. |
