Hi all. I just picked up a 2009 xb12scg. completely stock. I'm new to all this ecm stuff, so I thought I would pick your brains. Just wondering if it would be worth it to buy the EBR ECM for a stock exhaust. Not interested in an aftermarket exhaust. Are there any benefits to the EBR? Thanks in advance.

Yes get the EBR ECM, it is a fantastic upgrade over the stock one. It runs smoother, feels stronger, improves fuel economy, and has a bunch of other little tweaks that improve overall driveability.

Yes!
Buell ECMs had to comply with all the EPA rules. So it was restricted for all kinds of rules and regulations.
EBR isn't building Buells, so their ECMs are strictly designed for performance.
Best mod you can buy for a stock bike, you will notice a HUGE difference.

Hey guys. Got the new ECM installed. First off, GIANT power gain! Feels like a different bike. It has a few quirks that take some getting used to. Not sure if anyone else has experience with these, but thought I'd ask. First, idle is around 1800 rpm at startup. Calms down to 1050-1100 after a couple minutes. Second, rpm's actually go up as I let the clutch lever out. Never experienced this before. Third, cooling fan now only runs when riding at speed. when I slow to a stop, the fan stops. This was just the opposite before new ECM. I'm sure all of this is normal, But thought I'd ask those with more experience. Thanks.

Thanks Froggy. I thought everything was ok, but figured it was better to ask the pros!
