Will 2003 XB9 rocker box covers fit/work on a 99 S3 motor? |

I just did this job on my 2002 S3T last weekend. actually it was a by-product of needing to resolve a leaking push rod tube issue. bought the kit from American Sport Bike, also put in a billet catch can. |

Yes they will but you may have a clearance issue with the rear PCV valve and your gas tank. I reversed mine; front on rear and rear on front to increase clearance to the tank. The upper edge of the front one may need to be filed down a bit... stay away from the gasket groove. If I was to buy new parts at the shop to do this, I would get two front covers. |

"I would get two front covers" Same as blast cover? Those would be sold individually if so. |

I used the kit from American Sport Bike and placed the PVC breathers inboard and had no issues with fitment on a 2002 s3T FI bike. |

The '99 frame brings the motor closer to the gas tank. When mounted inboard, my rear cover's PCV valve prevented the tank from fully taking its position on the frame. The valve was about .100" too high. Mounting the rear cover with the valve facing outboard on the front was tricky, too. The frame barely clears the valve and I had to back off the front mounting bolt to get it in place. I think they may indeed be the same as the Blast. |
