Someone has fitted 06 clocks to my 10 bike. The rev limit line is not the same. It must have been done at the factory, maybe they run out of the new type, or at the dealers for some reason.

No big deal though as I use my ears/feel for the revs anyway. Its not a "rev happy" engine and 6500 is enough as it has run out of "puff" by then. Still its a bit of a cheek to not fit the right ones.

IIRC due to the new crank configuration and oil pump, the BuellMoCo elevated the upper rpm limit.

Did the EU bikes get the raised redline? Or is it some goofy emissions thing over there that they got low-RPM settings?

Perhaps it got damaged a bit before it was sold and they put what they had on it to make it whole again?
My 2008 was delivered to me with 7 miles and a fouled spark plug.
"New"
Dealerships seem to do "stuff" with new bikes before they are sold sometimes.

"Did the EU bikes get the raised redline?" Yes its the same latter engine as the US ones. They fitted a CAT though for emissions.

Weird. My 2010 has a 7000 rpm redline tachometer.

6000, 65000 and 7000 rpm should be white.

Does my 06 Uly have a rev limiter that prevents me from inadvertently exceeding redline? I assume it does, but ain't sure. Sometimes when I get on it hard, I don't have the luxury of staring at the tach before I shift. Just want to make sure on the occasions I do this, I'm not venturing into what Kenny Loggins referred to as "the danger zone."
