There are a whole lot of different reasons why people ride motorcycles. Some people love racing, and the rush that comes with it. Some like to cruise and enjoy the scenery. there are people who commute on their bikes to save money, and to cut through jammed up traffic. With most people, it's a mix of things. I ride a motorcycle because it's the most sensuous way to travel. I see more, I smell more (quiet, Dyna!), I experience the weather, and the varying temperatures, I love the sensations of cornering and acceleration and braking on a motorcycle much more than in a car.I feel more alive on a bike. I ride a Buell because it feels better than anything else out there. It inspires confidence. It's more motorcycle than I'm a rider. Hell, it makes me grin a lot, just because it makes riding so much more fun. I also think that the Tubers are some of the most beautiful motorcycles ever made. I'm just curious about why other people ride Buells. |

I like sport bikes, I like Harleys... I never bought a tuber because they have a "sportster" engine and I've never been a fan of sportsters. When they redesigned the engine and developed a world class frame I had to have one. |

Well i ride to escape from the same ol Crap that happens everyday, and to forget everything but the road. True i ride to get to work everyday, but come on that is a 72 mile one way trip. Some days the commute itself is an expirence. But i have to admit, riding with Spidy inspires you to ride harder, and harder (SHUT UP DYNA!) cut those corners just a bit sharper next time. Hell i have owned 4 bikes in the short 8 years i have been riding. The buell is the best i have sat on. of course the others werent' newer than 86 but hay. I wouldn't trade my buell for anything. serious.... |

I bought mine a few months ago because I liked the Millenium Edition when it came out - but I bought a Dyna Wide Glide instead. I wasn't about to pay $11K+ for the Buell, knowing it would be worth half that a couple of years later. So when a friend of a friend let me know they had a Mill X1, 100% stock, no problems, and 5,500 miles, I scooped it up. It's cool! Why do I ride it? I like riding, and I also have always ridden Harleys. I like knowing it is an American bike, and I like that I don't ever see one just like it (except on the boards of course). It's more bike (handling wise) than I can handle well, but I can still manage to put a big s***-eating grin on my face in the twisties. Mike M |

I ride cause it was a cool way to meet women. Thats how I hooked my wife...or maybe it was the lies I told her Blackbelt..no reason to ride harder & harder with spidey, just hang back & eventually he will crash like he always does & you will catch up. Crusty, that was you? And here a couple of guys had been blaming it on CJ the whole time |

I grew up with two wheels beneath me. I've always loved motorcycling. I've owned and ridden many brands. Honda's, Harleys, beemers, Ducs, Kawas, and Buells. My wide glide gathers dust in the back of the garage since I bought my first '95 S2 new. that bike gave me 148,000 wonderful miles before it was stolen. the only problems were typical "Harley" problems. (see my profile) I've accepted that. My Buells give me a rush no other bike has in the past, and probably won't in the future. they look stunning, handle better than most, and stop on a dime. Some people may hate Buells, and should probably stick to their "lead sled". I may not be new to the board, but I do try to keep my opinions to myself. After all: It's better to remain silent and thought a fool, Then to open your mouth and remove all doubt. |

I ride a Buell because the bike involves me directly in it's operation. I need a machine that needs me- modern moto-appliances just don't interest me. Buell hit on something by designing a bike that is specifically suited to the roads it will be used on, rather than some fictitious racetrack environment. |

A Cyclone is in geeeerage, and will be there a long time because... 1). Ergonomically friendly 2). More than enough power 3). Killer exhaust note 4). Great looks 5). Not a clone or lookalike of anything else 6). Mine's been very reliable |

I've always enjoyed sportbikes (we referred to them as cafe racers, and yes I guess using that term makes me old). When I got back into motorcycles (when our youngest went to college) I didn't feel I was ready to ride with a bunch of fat, tattooed, 50 something year old bald guys on cruisers wearing outlaw biker apparel. My M1 has more than enough power for me, and is a machine that does everything well. It is just enjoyable to ride. Besides that, I like being different from the mass of Repli-racers that you see on the highways everyday. |

I ride a Buell X1 because it is stylish, comfortable, handles great and has excellent power delivery in both the low and mid range.

Was what me? I don't know what I'm being accused of. If I did something, I'll own up to it, but I can neither confirm nor deny whatever it is that you're referring to.

I have had a long love affair with Buell. I sat on my first Buell, an RS1200 at Jim's Harley in Yuma, Az at age 14. The shop owner eventually had to kick me out of the store! I've wanted to be there ever since. I always had my eyes on them and kept up with the company, constantly stopping into dealerships like a kid in a candy store with no $$$. A string of unfortunate life decisions prevented me from owning one until recently, when I had worked my butt off in the Marine Corps and could afford one. I learned to ride on my Firebolt; and even though I've never ridden another bike, save for the other Buells I've ridden, I just know I wouldn't be happy on anything else. So... Bart, you're not the only Buell Whore!!! Charles |

1999 M2...... 1) It shakes like a horse with a fly on it's back at stoplights 2) It sounds like like the far-off rumble of distant thunder 3) It visually resembles a T.Rex on roller blades 4) It has more torque and horsepower than I have riding ability (grin!) 5) The looks you get at stoplights are priceless..Kodak Moments! 6) My wife is scared of it 7) Hell, I'M scared of it!!! LOL 8) It handles like nothing else I've ever ridden 9) Nobody else around here has one 10)Last but not least, something about the way it looks just does something to me. I guess you could say it transforms me into my alter-ego (Jekyl/Hyde?) Does that make sense?

There are plenty of reasons I ride a Buell, alot of them people have already said here, but the one sticking out in my head tonight is the blend that my M2 has of simpleness and innovation. Its kinda like having a tricked out 350 Chevy engine in a perfect chassis... there is plenty there that is new tech and amazing but I still understand it enough to feel completely connected to her. I am searching for the right words here... I was riding home from the SCAB meeting down here the other night and just felt so in tune with my bike, I love that V-Twin hum, It was late when I got home but I did'nt want to stop. This thing is in my blood big time. |

I think the tube framers are the most visually stunning motorcycles ever produced, especially the late model Cyclones and the original BattleTwin. |
