Why can't these people just stay retired? he had a good run but he is now too old and has been away too long. I can't remember a succesful comeback by any of the previous returnees(correct me if I'm wrong) and history is littered with sad racers trying to resurrect their heydays (Freddi Spencer, Scott Russell, Kevin Schwantz- later this year).
He'd just take a ride that young up coming rider would be better served on, and would get his arse kicked by the younger riders anyway now.
Mladin is certainly no Hailwood that's for sure. Hailwood also had a LOT of practice in secret before racing at the IOM. Things were different then too, when riders could get away with smoking and drinking, and not having to train hard to race.
Mladin should look in the mirror and realise he is too old now for a comeback. I know Biaggi and Checa are around the same age, but the difference is that they never took 3 years out of racing, so kept fit and up to speed. Mladin will find getting back in shape and up to speed again harder than he thinks.
But every rider is going to say he is in shape and doing decent lap times, so he needs to have that verified by someone else first methinks
Also, he will take a ride from another young rider, which really annoys me. He has had his career and been succesful already. Now is time to support younger riders on the ladder not employ ageing has beens. If he wants to be involved he could use his experience to guide and support young riders.
looks like 2 australians might come back, lol ducati is offering some serious money, hint hint
Where did that rumour come from? Stoner won't go back to Ducati even for a king's ransom (If they would even have him back at all after his parting comments!).
There will be space at Ducati next year for sure, but I doubt Stoner will be part of the solution.
I had read about a possible Ducati return somewhere also but I do not remember where. Probably not surprisingly he was complaining about him not being at the bottom in the car racing and missing the spotlight. Wish I could remember where I saw that. It definitely wasn't from Xb or Superbikeplanet.
