I had my 1125r apart for replacing the balance gears under the ignition cover. After getting it all buttoned back up I fired it up for a few seconds turned it off did the same once more. I then tried to start so I could let it run and idle for a bit and it was dead. The instrument cluster flashed and now won't do a thing I check all my connections and they were fine also checked battery connections as well as the other terminals under the black plastic piece located under the seat. Is there any other grounds to check or other things I can look for? It's just odd how the instrument cluster is dead or blacked out but the taillight and brake light work fine all other controls are down to. Thanks for reading and please share any thoughts you may have. Russell |

I don't think it's the battery it was low over winter but I recharged it and its held a steady charge sense. |

Ya they are tightened to what I'd say is normal not crazy tight going to snap but not loose by any means. |

Did you check the ground connection to the frame at the steering head? |

Sounds like a Low Voltage fail-safe mode. I've not heard/read/seen any kind of a limp or safe mode on the 1125 but this event would make sense. Either a weak/discharged battery or a ground, especially feeding the ECM. Check all fuses with a meter or test-light, not eyes. Z |

I did not check that ground but I will now. I did check fuses with out a meter but I will do it again with a reader. Is it possible that its in theft mode? I never set up a pin so don't see why it would be. |

If you started it twice and shut it back off you probably sucked the battery dry. |

The steering head ground is the main ground path for the cluster and handle bar controls. If it's loose or intermittent, it can cause the sort or problem you are describing, where some things turn on but the cluster is dead. |
