I have read other threads on protecting the forks from rocks and dust to prevent leaks. I saw another user put on pair of gaiters, but had to cut them and modify them to fit. I found a pair that slip right on without modification to the gaiter. The only mod needed is to radius a little off the inside of the fork brace near the bolts. The gaiters I bought are for a 2001-2010 Triumph Bonneville/Scrambler. I really like the look a lot. I purchased them here: http://smmotorco.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=19&products_id=772 Also, when I purchased my M2 from the previous (original) owner earlier this year, the fork seals were leaking. He said they have leaked, been replaced and leaked etc. since he purchased the bike. I had a set of Leakproof seals put in. I only have about 150 miles on them so far without problems. Will update if I do. Here is where to get the seals if you are interested. I got the promoly since they were only $5 more. http://thunderproducts.com/Leakproofforkseals.htm I do not work for, nor am I affiliated with either website. I am just passing on the information. Cheers.

On my old jap v-twin, when I put on the fork boots, I left off the big rubber wipers. It seemed like it improved how easy the front went up and down. (Could have been psychosomatic improvement.) Did you leave on the wipers? I think old bikes with boots didn't have fork wipers inside. |

Yes, the wipers were left on too. The boots were just an addition to hopefully help prevent the persistent leak problem experienced by prior owner (fingers crossed) and improve the look IMO. |

I forgot to list the Leakproof seals part numbers. The seals that fit the Cyclone are 5246 for the Promoly and 7246 for the standard. |
