04 XB12R 13000.....Bought my new love about 3 months ago I have been riding it to and from work (about 15 miles each way) and just riding around town in general. My question is, is it normal for the fan to be on the whole time I ride? It is usually btwn 60-80 degrees nothing crazy. My fellow riders seem to think it isn't normal, looking for a little help BTW she runs great |

Welcome to Buells. Bought my XB12R new in 2005. Fan seems like it is almost always on when riding. Always been that way. Stock and now with factory race kit. Outside temps doesn't seem to matter unless it is below 50 degrees. |

Yep that is how it is supposed to work. The bike is air cooled with limited air flow to the rear cylinder, so it runs it constantly once it gets up to temperature. It is when it is not running that you have a problem |

Not so much... That will help your leg from being as hot, but will only have a marginal effect on fan operation. Get a right side scoop and your fan will run less, especially on the highway. The 2010 Uly scoop will fit your bike and is the one to get. http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/A17360.html Al |
