Im looking at a used spec ops exhaust that came off an xb9 and kn air filter. Does anyone know if they are identical to that on an xb12. |

Air filter is identical, but the XB9 and XB12 have different mufflers. The Ulysses has a slightly different muffler from most of the rest of the XB lineup as it has a different exhaust tip to clear the kickstand but it is functionally identical. |

Thanks, how are the exhausts different. Will the spec ops exhaust dual tip from an xb9 clean the kickstand? |

Ok I don't think my previous post was clear enough. The XB9 and 12 have totally different mufflers, with totally different internal configurations to optimize power delivery from each motor. The XB12 series mufflers have a valve in them that allows the exhaust flow to be rerouted based on throttle position and RPM, while the XB9 has a single fixed path. The XB9 and XB12 have different size headers, and I've seen mixed information on if you can put a 9 muffler on a 12 or vice versa. The Special OPS should fit, as most modified stock exhausts will fit with the kickstand, as they usually shorten the rear section of them by several inches. That said, I would not use the XB9 Special OPs, as I know Special OPS has two versions, one for the 9 and one for the 12. (Message edited by froggy on May 07, 2013) |
