Hey everyone I'm new to this, so bear with me. I have an 08 xb12R. I heard of this way of making the case breath better and ad a couple of HP, by taking the the two breather hoses and hooking up a 3/8 tee then running the hose down to a container? Don't know what size container or where to mount? Has any one done this is so how did you hook up this container that you have to drain every 500 to 800 miles or so. You have to close the two hole in bottom of air box. Where the two hoses used to run. Any help? Thanks bill. |

Bildon: Check w/Al at American Sport Bike for a catch can for '08 models. I have one on my '08 TT, and it works really well and looks like OE equipment. As to the holes, I found some snap in plastic plugs at a home improvement store, the kind used for blocking off wire holes in desks, ect. Glued those in place. Or, take a short piece of hose and run it through both holes. |

Akbuell, can not thank you enough. I have some plastic plugs for hydro lines will try that out for the air box. Will look at site for container. Thanks again. |

Gentlemen, Despite my wife's silent treatment and everything that goes with it, I went ahead and bought me-self an '06 Uly. It had been a long time since I had last ridden a motorcycle. Thought of starting up and buying one before the toddler thing happens. I am highly impressed with quality of knowledge in this forum and die hard fanatics of Uly. I hope to learn something and someday hopefully share my learning. Thanks, |

Take an msf rider course and gear up, especially helmet and gloves, it may help ease your wife's concerns you'll suddenly leave her unexpectedly. Best to have things peaceful on the home front. My old lady says it's hard sharing my love with the bike, but she get's it, and I ride reasonably and responsibly for my family's sake. The Uly is a GREAT bike. Enjoy it and welcome to badweb! |

Welcome all, Petro_freak; My SO was apprehensive when I told her I was buying a Buell so I could park the sportster to do some upgrades. She does get it though and appreciates the fact I come home with a smile on my face no matter what sort of traffic I run into. It helps that I live up in the Santa Cruz Mountains... |

Hey guys! Just checking in.. working with a 2000 M2 Cyclone, not much done to it.. carbon ham can, 1250 NRHS high compression pistons and cylinders (have not even put on the 500 miles to break em in yet, will post a review once it's all broken in).. About to switch to bar end mirrors, LED tail light with integrated turn signals and a Truck-lite 7" LED headlight. My best friend works in vinyl wrapping and said that he may be able to get enough scraps of 3M Matte blue vinyl to wrap the m2! Fingers crossed! this baby will be my daily driver (college student without a car, have a 92 wrangler, cannot afford 18 mpg or 110 a month for insurance) Sold my 01 bandit 600 at the beginning of the season to resurrect the m2 (my dad and I had rebuilt the engine and then I went off to college and my dad just let it sit..so I am back in New Mexico for the summer to get it in tip top shape to ride to DFW). I named her "Kristine" after the old movie.. where the car kills all the guys friends because they are getting in the way (I know its spelled with a C buy my jeep is named Kimberly and I wanted to keep with the theme..)I named her that because when I was 18 and had taken my MSF class my dad let me ride the M2and it only seemed to start when I was being really nice to her and thinking positively..later I blew a hole through the rear cyl!) Hope to be an active member in the community and learn a ton of information from all the Buell knowledge banks that frequent the boards!

Hi, my name is Ian or WestOz and I hail from Perth, Western Australia. I currently own 3 Buells ('98 S1, '97 S1, '02 X1). I bought my first Buell 11 years ago and have been a regular reader of BadWeb for most of that time. The weather out this way is very similar to Southern California so the riding is great and all year round :-) Cheers WestOz |

Hey Chico! My daughter is heading up there for school in a week or so. I've got an 02 S3T here. Don't ride enough. Yeah, 70 in the Feather River Canyon is a great ride, beautiful and cool. Northeast of Sac, up 65, 70, 89, and I-80 back home makes for a long, but fun day for me. |

Hello all, My first motorcycle back in 2003 was a Buell Blast. After putting a few thousand miles on it my dad encouraged me to get a new Harley for my 16th birthday, despite my desire for an Xb. So I drove this Harley around, and don't get me wrong, it was a great bike, I still longed for another Buell. Sometime in 2007 while stopped in a Harley dealer sat a Xb9r. I immediately inquired about the bike. The salesman damn near gave me an even trade. I finally had my Buell! Fastforward to 2012. I'm engaged, and moving to a new home with my Emilie. She wants to ride, but as I'm sure you are all aware, the pillion on the Xb9r is roughly the size of your palm... The Buell and I parted ways for a cruizer the two of us could enjoy. Our first outing of the summer this year (2013) took us up to Columbus, Ohio. I had to meet someone in a town I was unfamiliar with, so my father suggested I stop in to a dealer called the Iron Pony for the meetup. Of course Emilie had to take a bathroom break ( ), so we dipped inside. Upon entering the door I saw a Buell Ulysses. 2007, 18,000 miles, brand new tires, and clean like it was from the factory. We returned the next day to take it home! I have a flair for the dramatic I know but I love the Buell, Buells in general, and everything they stand for. I've learned a lot from this site over the years and want to start contributing and hopefully help keep the Buell legacy alive! Namaste! |

Hi everyone, we (me, my hubby and the Bumblebee) wanted to say thank you. We discovered BadWeB shortly after buying the Bumblebee, a 2001 Blast, and the forum has been a blessing. Replacing the exhaust, re-jetting, cleaning out the car, water in the gas tank, and now the ignition module, all done with BadWeB guidance. We appreciate all the wisdom. |

It was probably not installed correctly after the last time it was removed. Either the wrong torque, or incorrect thread locker. |

Back On a Buell. I just got an 09 Uly. I had an 06, and traded it for a trainer bike for the wife earlier this year. I thought i could live with a BMW, but it turns out I Couldn't stand not having a Buell and happened upon an 09 XT yesterday. Waiting on a new clutch and it can come home. |

Hello Buell Riders, I ride a Buell ST2 that somehow landed in South Africa (I do not know how?!). The engine is still very strong and makes a lovely sound. My query relates to tyre pressures for this bike - the previous guy who serviced my bike believed in very high pressures, over 40 p.s.i I believe. In South Africa we measure these by "bar", so I would like to know the equivalent. Dana van der Merwe |

Google has a nice conversion capability built into their search engine, I use it all the time. Go to google and type in "convert PSI to bar". 1 pound per square inch = 0.0689475729 bar So if you want 40 PSI (good for fuel economy and long tire life, but not as good a grip) you want 40 of those .0689475729 bar units. So that would be a total of 2.756 bar. |

Oh, and run your belt scary loose, make sure the internal primary chain tensioner is the updated version, and if you have the original paper rocker box and primary cover gaskets order replacement kits now so you have them on hand when they (inevitably) start leaking. They do make a lovely sound. Do you have the Supertrapp IDS system? Great exhaust for those bikes. |

Hello. I love working on cars. I now have been enjoying working on my friends buell blast. It's a great bike. Small but in some ways safer and sounds great with the Vance exhaust. I plan on removing the bike from her as I'm hooked. This bike rocks. |

Welcome Propane! Every time I work on a car, I remember why I like working on bikes so much better. If you can find a $2000 M2 somewhere with some minor sorting needed, you would love it. |

Bill, nailed it. I've come to loathe working on cars... Been doing it since I about 9. Bikes are way cooler. (Message edited by bluzm2 on August 15, 2013) |
