The shock on my beloved 2000 X1 is done. I really can't swing a grand for a penkse at the moment, will an XB shock fit? They seem to be rather plentiful and cheap. |

No- An XB shock is a push shock and the X1 is a pull.... they are not interchangeable. |

Look into a Works. I have one of those on my S2, and a Penske on my S1W - either is a HUGE upgrade from the stocker. In a pinch, a stock shock from just about any tube-frame Buell will fit your X1, as long as the overall length is the same. |

dammit, I knew that about the push/pull. Thank you for the reminder. Man a works is still a grand. I wonder if HD would still honor the recall now that I think about it? believe mine has the second gen shock with the brace. |

I just had my pogo rebuilt by racetech in MD. In all it was $340 and it actually absorbs shocks once again. |

There is the new kid on the block http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/5191-15.html $790 or the base works shock http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/6060.html $799 Either one will be better than the stocker I also looked on Ebay and there is a takeoff from a 2000 S3 for $230. |

There's new stock for $300 at St Paul HD on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Buell-Rear-Shock-M2-2000-0 2-X1-1999-02-New-Box-K0431-9-/281095761503?pt=Moto rcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item41729ce e5f |

Keep in mind, a Works and a Penske are owner-rebuildable...stock units are not. Buy one, and you should never have to get another. |

Anyone know the bracket I need to switch over if I pick up a NIB 14.75 incher? |

If the NIB is a replacement kit for the recall it may have the bracket included! Double check with the seller. Unfortunately otherwise they're pricey: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BRAND-NEW-BUELL-14-8-FRONT -SHOWA-SHOCK-MOUNT-S1-X1-M2-S3-BEST-DEAL-ON-EBAY-/ 271186037131?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash =item3f23f2898b&vxp=mtr The search term is buell front shock mount. Any listed for the 14 inchers will extend properly to fit. |

I would sell you my brand new recall shock and mounting bracket if you were interested. I kinda want to spend the extra on a works shock. |

I know stock shocks are shop rebuildable. Which is why my post said Works and Penske shocks are USER rebuildable. I chose to go with a valve update when I had my Penske redone, otherwise I could have bought a few $ in seals and done it at home. I probably could have done the revalve too...but didn't trust myself with that just yet. |
