My used CV carb is flooding again. I will take it off and re clean it today but does anyone know where I could get an OEM replacement? |

Replaced the needle, the seat is pressed in. Am going to try to clean the seat today. Also will check my fuel for sediment. |

The seat is PRESSED in? I've got so many bikes that it's hard to keep track but, that doesn't make sense. I've had luck using a Q-tip with some metal polish on it to semi-restore a dirty or worn seat. Push it down the hole and twist it against the seat. A little work and everything was perfectly shiny and clean down there. Needle worked perfectly again. |

Guy in California offers a rebuild service, which may be your best bet, certainly cheaper than a new carb. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Harley-Keihin-40-MM-CV-Car b-rebuilding-service-/221129205737 Alternatively there's the favourite Mikuni kit from American Sport Bike. |

You're welcome, seems like a reasonable price. If you should decide to go for a new carb I'd get the Mikuni though, I love mine. I know there's all the threads on modding the CV40, but the flatslide has instant response & when set up by somebody who knows what they're doing is no more thirsty than the CV. |

Grumpy Can the Mikuni accept the S2T stock air cleaner cover? I want to retain the look of my S2T with the rotated ham can. |

I have both a modified CV40 and a Mikuni HSR 42. Both are great when set up correctly. If you want smooth power the CV shines but if you want instant response the HSR 42 is supreme. Both make good power with a stock motor. Right now I an using the CV 40 and the Mikuni is in a box in reserve. |

Dunno about on a S2T I've an M2. Also what Dave says is spot on, I'm running the Mikuni at the moment as I'm only mucking about in the mountains at the moment, but the CV is a little easier to live with on a long trip. Not many straight roads in this part of the world. |

Well since the CV on an S2T isn't rotated...I'd say yes, it will fit the baseplate just like any other CV application. |

Threw in the towel on the CV. Getting a Mikuni The "new" CV carbs are copies made in China. While China make some nice things (all my clothing for one) I dont really want a clone of this carb. |

If your old CV needs a home, I'm sure I can find a use for it |
