Sorry if this has been beat to death I am still kinda new here. If I buy the ECM cable from American Sportbike can I get a program from the web somewhere to make changes so I can pass emissions?? I have never done this kind of thing before, having said that I have just completely rebuilt this bike from the frame up so I am no fool in the garage. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mark. |

Yes. What state performs emission tests on motorcycles? |

Or if you have an android phone use this app and make yourself a bluetooth dongle for your bike https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org. ecmdroid&hl=en |

O.K. so I got the cable and the ecm spy and did the tps reset. Next is to check and adjust the timing so I can get in and check the maps. What I have right now is the enrichener seems to take a while to come down to 100% Is there a way to adjust the temps settings so the enrichener is not on unless the temps are low outside. I am in Arizona and it shouldn't need so much Choke. It starts out at almost 150% is anyone else in this area with a setting that high? |

You just change the Cold Start Enrichment/Warmup Corr. table in Other Maps (PCSpy) or Corrections/Various (MonoSpy). But I wouldn't... |

I hear you I am just trying to get it to pass emissions. I suppose I could find a testing station farther away so I could make sure it is good and hot before it is tested. They make you shut it off and then restart it with the sniffers on it. Maybe if it is ridden enough before test it will come back to 100% faster. |

Pash I used your method of replacing the rear pushrod tube upper seal and it worked flawlessly. Thanks I was afraid I was going to have to remove the head to fix it. If no one has said it lately, Thank you to all that help here I for one appreciate the help. For those that ask for advice and get it but don't know how to use it , well you just can't please everyone.. |

Where is your engine breather routed to? Are there rules where it needs to go? Is the test done with a warm or cold engine? |

The longer you can wait for a hotter day to emissions test the better. All newer bikes and cars monitor the ambient air temp while running. The hotter the day the lower the amount of "unburned" fuel. |

Breather is run into a catch can, no rules for that. Cars and bikes are tested as they come through the line. You pull up and they make you shut it off. They go through and check vin. then hook up to the exhaust and you start the bike,if it doesn't pass the first sniff test they make you hold it at 2,500 rpm for 30 seconds and sniff it again to see if it corrects itself. I just need to hit the freeway for a 10 or 15 min. ride first then I should be golden. |
