Just had a thought after looking at my friends vintage truimph with a leather wrapped tank. What do yo guys think about a leather or other material wrapped tank on a Buell would solve the bubbling and could be done basic or intricate? |

If you were willing to make a complete leather cover, you could use an X1 fuel cell without paint I suppose. |

I have thought of using leather vinyl wrap on my narrow bag lids to cover up some scuffs rather than trying to match the paint and having them painted. It would be less expensive and might look really nice. I've seem pix of Ferraris and Lambos wrapped in the stuff, and its not a bad look. I suppose it could work on the tank. |

Well, it wouldn't "solve" the bubbling. It would, however, cover it up. Might be a neat idea. Hell, half my tank is covered with a bra now anyway. |

I stand corrected. It would cover the issue so we dont pull our eyes out. Def not for everyone but a good leather artist could work wonders |

Just stick a baglux cover on and then you also have somewhere to clip your tankbag |

It was done in marine grade vinyls an it is holding up just fine. |

There was a company years ago that made them. Aha! Found them! Bagsters, made for either small or manta tanks. http://www.bagster.com/de/catalogue-couleur.php?id _moto=3456 |

Bagster / baglux is one and the same company One of my friends fitted one to a manta tank on an M2 after it bubbled badly yet again , I have one for my X1 purely for fitting a tankbag to.... the X1 fit is not as good as the manta due to it being designed to finish at the original airbox. |

There was a local guy who worked at the dealership years back who had a carbon fiber print vinyl cover for either a S2 fuel cell or a race specific tank made up. It was really sharp, didn't have the bulky look as some of the covers above have and just seemed to fit perfectly. I sure wish I had a picture to post of it. Haven't seen a post from Ebutch in a while. |
