Check your oil that sounds like water or moisture in the oil somewhere. Tranny fluid too. could have gotten in somewhere. |

I had same thing. In my case it was moisture that condensed in the breather tubes (3/8" hose from each head) mixing with oil when I slightly over filled (really important to check the oil when warm BTW!!!). Even a little over filled and these bikes like to puke! |

had the same issue on my S3t on first ride this year after a long winter, I let it warm up plenty, after the ride to work I noticed it dripping from the hose...none since though. |

If it keeps happening, change the crankcase seal under the compensating sprocket. |

Crank seal won't cause frothing. All a bad crank seal does is let oil (from the engine) into oil (in the primary). If that happens, you'll get oil out of the vent hose, not froth. Froth is water. Condensation. Starting the bike, making it make the "vroom vroom" noise, then shutting it back off, makes the froth. Riding the bike on runs shorter than 30 minutes makes the froth. You need to run the bike long enough to boil off the water that naturally condenses in the oil when the bike sits... "getting it up to temperature" doesn't burn off the froth. Getting it up to temp and then RUNNING it at temp for a while is what burns it off. Yes, it can do it once after a long storage and then be done - that's a good sign. Yes, if you pull your clutch cover it will probably be coated in the stuff. No...it's not anything to worry about. Just ride it, and it'll burn off. |

I had froth from my crankcase vent the year I got my '99, every time it rained heavy while I was riding, until I replaced the crankcase seal with the modern, double-lipped design. Patrick's bikes are old, 1995 and 2000 model years, and probably have the old metal-encased, single spring crankcase seals. Pressurized air can come through those early seals and cause the froth. Replacing them with the 35151-74A seal can reduce the foaming. |

And put a cable tie around the clutch cable adjuster to prevent rain water getting in the cable and running into the primary ![; )](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/clipart/winker.gif) |

David, he said the spooge is super clean: I think we can safely assume it's the transmission vent tube. |

Gotcha. If it keeps coming out of the trans vent tube Patrick that crank seal is starting to fail. If you need help changing it let me know. Just did mine a few weeks back. |

I changed the gear oil and it did have a little moisture in it. The back of the Derby cover had a white film on it. Cleaned it out, adjusted the clutch and primary chain. Took it out for a 40 miler and it doesn't drip the white moisture. Thanks for all the help. This is a fantastic website. Thanks Blackm2 for the offer!! My next project is the Rocker Box leak. |
