02 X1 wouldn't start. I gapped each plug. no change. Put in stock ECM. No change. Bought a new fuel pump and installed it - NO CHANGE. Pulled the fuel filter and connected the lines directly. No pressure at the rail. Followed the flow chart in the service manual- all voltages look perfect. It says SERVICE FUEL PUMP. Added a TSP of fuel to cylinders- she ran for like 10 seconds.. I pulled the fuel line at the injector rail- no fuel with NEW pump running. I puled the regulator "cup" off (2 screws). It comes right off. Is it supposed to be attached with a membrane? Or an O Ring? I don't see either... It was recommended here to buy ECM spy, and the cable, which I did, and it told me nothing.. ..and to send injectors to RC, which I did, and they came back pretty much as I sent them out.. No change. There's like $140 wasted.. the real problem is, it seems, the fuel regulator. So what's next? Are the regulators sold separately? Is it like the fuel pump, where HD charges 5X what I cant get them for elsewhere? Maybe I only need O rings? Lets start with inexpensive solutions... So far its all $$ out the door and no results.. ELF- I was thinking you could bring your buell over, we could run a fuel line from yours to mine, and see if she starts! |

Seen my profile page? I have no fuel pump installed. Could put the pump back in my original tank, shall go out right now and see if the rubber gasket is still in it. PM me your phone number. |

Nope, have the tank, fuel pump, and gas cap retaining ring/overflow vent valve, but no rubber gasket. Been a few years since I looked at it. Got a sheet of rubber inner tube material? Can't bring it over until you tell me where you are. |

Sent a test message to myself: system works. Buell Boy, have sent you two PMs; spare tank is assembled and ready for you to swap in. Use a real name in your profile or be thought of as a troll. (Message edited by harleyelf on April 14, 2013) |
