I guess injectors are ruled out now. Checked for spark it appears strong. Now Im starting to think fuel pump. Or maybe the internal FP filter. I just replaced the FP like 6 months ago- has maybe 400 miles on it. Can I used the shrader value to test pressure? I'm not sure of the procedure.

I read the service manual and I don't have a FP guage. I disconnected the line at the filter and gas dripped out. Turned the key, pump ran a few seconds and no change- just dripped out . I put my finger on the hose and stopped the flow- turned the key pump fired up, and felt very little, if any pressure. Suspicious? |

Yeah, I'd say that's pretty suspicious. The system should have about 40 PSI. You can use an old style air conditioning gauge if you can find one (the old R12 type gauges). They have the same size fitting. It may be something wrong with the pickup in the tank. I haven't had my S3's pump out but, my 2000 Excelsior Henderson just crapped out on the side of the road like this. It turned out to be an o-ring on the pump assembly. It sealed the pump output to the plumbing and the o-ring just disintegrated with this alcohol filled fuel. A couple of new Viton o-rings and it was good as new. |

There are threads on which automotive fuel pumps work. PM me if you want to swap my take-out in for a test - it was working when I converted to carburetor and I'm in Melbourne. |

Similar situation happened to me. Bike rode fine to the fuel station, quit and never started again for a while. Checked EVERYTHING, turned out it was a bad speedo sensor. |

This happened to me last month. I replaced the regulator and the fuel filter on the fuel pump and it worked great. The fuel filter had turned a blackish color and I think pieces of the inside of it were clogging up the regulator. Regulator is 40 bucks and filter is 10.
