Author Message   Arods_blast Posted on Tuesday, April 09, 2013 - 11:29 pm:        I started riding jap rockets...got my first buell..a Blast model. Its an 02 with only 1000 miles, yes 1000. Im a small engine mechanic by trade, so i know what an engine should sound like. Question is about valve and or valve lash noise. Is the constant "ticking" normal? Is it time for a service? Or is that just how these engines sound? Ticking matches engine rpm fyi. Please help ease my mind.   Harleyelf Posted on Tuesday, April 09, 2013 - 11:57 pm:        It's just your hydraulic lifters. They'll quiet down when it gets used to being used every day. A shot of Marvel Mystery Oil might help clean them up, but it is not really necessary. Get a service manual.
