Lets see how he does in a race on the bike now. No question hes good. But there is a learning curve. Does he adapt quick or does take a little time? |

He's got one helluva record to beat. In his first three races on a factory MotoGP bike, Jorge Lorenzo took three consecutive pole positions, and three consecutive podiums including a race win on his third try. Can Marquez meet or beat that? Be interesting to see. As for that other guy that used to share a garage with Pedrosa... what was his name again?? |

OUCH! That HAD to hurt: Dovi qualified higher than Rossi for the first race of the season!! I've only seen the times though, and haven't seen the post qualifying interviews... |

Marquez is quite amazing, I will wait until after his first really big off. Some guys see god and slow down. But he does look like the real deal at this point. |

Lorenzo made sure Marquez didn't duplicate his feat of scoring pole position in his first three races in the class, though. Marquez is in Row two. I'm actually not TERRIBLY surprised Rossi heads up row three... qualifying was never really his strong point. Still, it has to be a BIT demoralizing to have Dovi qualify ahead of you in his first ever QP with the Ducati... |

The Doc Is back. I sure wonder how well he would have done if he hadnt made the two mistakes at the beginning going wide??? |

Yeah, that early move by the doctor almost looked like a second case of his ambition out weighing his talent. Down right dangerous looking, really. But the 2nd place finish was the type of performance I hope to see him repeat and improve upon the rest of the way. |

That was one humdinger of a season opener and shows what we've been missing for the past two years. The Doctor has not forgotten how to operate; he just needed the right scalpel! |

Jaime I think Rossi got alittle excited and didnt want Lorenso to get away and made two mistakes that dropped him 4 seconds and to 11th. If he hadnt Im just wondering if it would of been battle with his teamate instead?? |

I consider it a harbinger of the season to come. Can't wait!! I can understand Rossi's excitement. For two years he had (Italian) concrete weights strapped to his ankles and he's finally free. |

Now THAT was a GP race at last! Apart from Lorenzo clearing off into the sunset that is...It would have been nice to see all 3 of the Yamahas at the front and able to fight each other for the whole race. As it was, I'm sure that Crutchlow was held up for too long behind the Hondas and lost any chance of a podium in the first ten laps (although he put up a good fight). However 5th was about as good as he can wish for against 4 full factory bikes. I can't see Yamaha rushing to give him any updates either, as these could prove expensive (in points if not plastics!) to Rossi/Lorenzo as the season progresses if Crutchlow gets amongst them too regularly. Rossi showed what a racer he still is, and I hope has silenced some of the critics who thought he was past it. The last few laps with Marquez were magic and the post race celebrations showed that Rossi enjoyed it too. It also showed that Cal Crutchlow needs to be just that little bit more aggressive (like Rossi) to get past people and tends to get stuck behind traffic for too long. Moto 2 was a great race too. Well done to Scott Redding Here's hoping he (and Pol Espargaro of course) can get a decent MotoGp ride next year. |

He ran out of fuel on his cool-down lap. His buddy Andrea "Crazy Joe" Iannone gave him a lift to Parc Ferme. |

From reports from Rossi and Lorenzo. That,Honda may have the upper hand at COTA. They say the bike has improved a lot since the short test they did there. |

VERY interesting. According to http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2013/Apr/130419fp1. htm all of the riders are complaining of "lack of grip." That would explain Andrea and Nicky being so high in the standings; the Ducati seems to do better than the others when traction is at a premium (like on a wet track). They suffer when traction is GOOD. |

They have gusts of wind at 16 mph. The air temp is 64 degrees. Its a bit cool there and the Asphalt being new without ever really having bikes on it makes the track a wee bit green. Temps should get better tomorrow but later afternoon. |
