Mine is cut and rather than having it reworked I am looking to see if I can get one from one of you guys for around the same price if possible. I would prefer something other than the stock seat but will not be opposed to a stocker because it is still a nice seat. Let me know what you have. |

No luck. Anyone out there have any ideas or places to send it to have it reupholstered? |

I took mine directly to Saddlemen in SoCal. At the time they had lots of different options for reworking stock MC seats as well as having their standard offerings for all MCs. What was cool was that they would customize your seat to practically whatever you wanted for a reasonable price. I told them I wanted my stocker modified to be an all-day seat. What they did was make it sort of bucket shaped, 3 inches wider at the rear yet narrow up front with a gel insert and with this great Spandura covering that would not pinch or bind your bottom. As proof of its effectiveness, I rode that bike from SoCal to Wisconsin (and back) for Harley's 95th Anniversary and to visit the Buell factory. Truly all-day comfort! |

Let me look before you drop $400 on getting your stock one redone. I may have a spare Euro style seat. Like the one on my S1 here:

I had mine recovered by a local upholstery shop after cutting the foam down and reshaping it a bit. I flattened it mostly to keep it from forcing me forward, and also to reduce the ground clearance so I wasn't always smashing my junk. Cost was in the $95-120 range if I remember correctly.

I have a stock 96S1 solo seat that I haven't used in over 10 years. |

I ended up having my seat reupholstered at a local shop. They put gel inserts in it and wrapped it in leather but it is still uncomfortable and unbearable for my girlfriend. Trouble: I'm now interested in the long seat/tail combo. Can you send a pic of it from the side view? Also, I'd be interested in the front rotor, tank, and brake pedal if you are parting that bike. |
